Just replaced the lamp and have 3 blinking lights in standby...as I read an overvoltage protection.. can I repair or do i need to call a service tech?
Thanks man same thing happen to me . after i replace the lamp i turn it on right away with out putting it back the lamp cover . i did see the micro switch when i press it the tv will work . wondering whats touching the micro switch . while reading your website found out that i need to put it back the safety cover . thanks buddy .
YOU ARE THE MAN.... THANKS FOR THE INPUT... OR PERHAPS I SHOULD REMEMBER TO PUT THE SAFETY COVER BACK ON, BUT YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT THE MICRO SWITCH AND THE COVER HAS TO MAKE CONTACT.
The 3 blinks on this model TV means you have a lamp cover error. When you install the cover look at the tab on the cover and make sure it is making contact with the micro switch inside the lamp housing.

I just replaced the lamp also and I am getting the 3 blinking red lights.
Someone on here is saying something about a micro-switch. Is that inside the lamp housing? Or is that the plug looking thing on the bottom or what? My replacement lamp came as a black unit that I cane only assume just screws in. Help me if you can.
