Sharp Carousel R530BK microwave won't cook unless light pressure is kept on the door button.

There are door switches and one of them is evidently out of adjustment or the little actuator arm on it is.

During express or timed cooking, opening the oven door does not stop/pause the time display count down. Also after completion of cooking cycle, display will show the normal "Food Is Ready"...

You likely have a sticking door switch or damaged door switch mount, or possibly a sticking relay on your control circuit board.

The motor will not work. The interior light comes on, but the turntable does not go around. The cook time counts down, but no cooking occurs.

the turn table motor could have failed, but the counting down will be the monitor switch or a micro switch located behind control panel

Microwave doesn't work

Sounds like you have a faulty control panel. I would use a meter and test the power from the control board to the magnetron and circuit board. Chances are the control panel is faulty

I have a GE microwave with the message sensor error

Hi,
On GE models, "SENSOR ERROR" appears on the display when:

Using the sensor feature, the door was opened before steam could be detected. Do not open the door until stream is sensed and time is shown counting down on the display.

Steam was not detected in the macimum amount of time. Use Time Cook to heat for more time.

does the clock need to be reset? check the door the latch may need replacing. also check the fuse inside the unit

Sounds like it's running but no heat

Those symptoms are what I would expect when the controller or keypad gets wet. Tipping it is not an issue, unless that allowed the water to run into the controls more than just the wet soapy washcloth did. You may get lucky - it may dry out by itself in a few days. If not, and if careful targeting drying doesn't fix it, it will need a new keypad or controller.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you can detach the keypad connector (as per attached photo) then remove the control panel screws.

Be careful not to crack the glass display when handling it, or it's a goner.

Then you can use a soft cloth (not a paper towel) and a mild cleaner (not ammonia-based) to clean the front surface of the VFD display glass and the rear side of the clear bezel (display window) that's attached to the keypad.

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that you spray non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth (not a paper towel which can scratch) and gently wipe the keypad.
