You need to attached a DSL filter spitter on your line. This is an analog low pass filter which commonly installed between analog devices. Without DSL filters, signals or echoes from analog devices at the top of their frequency range can result in reduced performance and connection problems with DSL service, while those from the DSL service at the bottom of its range can result in line noise and other issues for analog devices. Telephone must be connected to line using a filter (which should have been provided by ISP). If not, you run risk of Internet dropping w/ incoming calls.

Netflix without cable tv?

You'll need a broadband connection to the Internet to do Netflix. I'm assuming you currently have a bundle; Internet with your cable TV. So you can get rid of cable tv and just have Internet through the cable company or if it's available DSL via the telephone company. You could also get Internet via Satelite, but it cost more.

I have constant trouble with my toshiba laptop using windows vista constantly losing the dial up internet connection.

If your telephone line may have disturbances from any electronic devices at any point then this could happen. Try moving other devices especially speakers, mobile phones and TV near the modem. Does your laptop wifi enabled one? Do you use telephone in that line? If so use a line filter with two out. could you give your laptop model no.? There is not enough details to pinpoint the problem

My thomsom tg585v7 keep loing internet, I switch it of but it still loses connection when switched back on

This is normally a problem with your internet connection, try contacting your ISP.. They are going to send a technical guy to verify your Telephone line..

Frequent disconnection are seldom caused by faulty filters.. Try changing your filters you connected on the telephone RJ11 box..

I keep losing internet connection every few minutes. the light will turn red and then reboot itself. i tried all of the different channels and it does not help. what is wrong

If the light turns red then it says, there is a lot of noise on your telephone (dsl) line..
If there is a lot of noise, then the dsl will lose the connection and it will try to establish a connection again...

at this point you will lose your internet connectivity...

So i advice you to contact your ISP and ask them to change the telephone line from the junction box...
or ask them to check the amount of Noise in your DSL line...

Signal to Noise ratio (SNR) value on your DSL modem should be more than 40db for greater connectivity...
If it goes below 30db, you will face frequent disconnection and very slow internet...

Telephone connection

Unless you have dial up, you arent supposed to be losing any connection between the two. If you are, i would call them up and have them come out to fix it for free. That is completely rediculous.
