Garmin nuvi saying GPS SW version 4.10software 7.10 what does this mean

There are two possibilities as to why your GPS is not responding.

The first is to check your System Settings. Although it should not affect your GPS signal, check to see if the WAAS / EGNOS setting was turned off. If so, try turning it back on.

The other possibility is that the Garmin device is not reporting the status of your antenna properly. When the Antenna is closed on the nuvi 350, it disables the GPS functionality. Simply open the antenna to re-enable GPS. If the antenna IS open, there could be a hardware malfunction. This would require contacting Garmin for additional assistance.

Try to charge your nuvi properly and full, or for at least 2hours before registering it. If the source of power connected to your nuvi is not strong enough, the nuvi might go off during an operation. Secure that the battery is well charged, then the source supplying the power is good enough to supply your nuvi with power before starting an operation.

However, Garmin released 3.4 which will include the changes in 3.1 and also makes the bluetooth compatible with more phones.

You need to go to www.garmin.com and download their webupdater and run it with your Nuvi connected to the PC with a USB cable. It will check (via the Internet) if you need a firmware upgrade. The latest firmware version for a Nuvi 660 is v4.7. There is a second menu after the main firmware option that allows you to select additional software. Select yes and check the bluetooth 3.4 box and the Chipset "G" box if it's shown.. The Chipset "G" is the upgrade for the receiver in the flip-up antenna. Let it download. When finished, select to safely remove the Nuvi. You can now unplug the USB cable. Your Nuvi will reboot and load in the new changes. Whatever you do, don't turn your nuvi off! Let it go and update. You will see it say "Loader", then "Loading Software" and you'll see a task bar that says "Updating Bluetooth Software" and "Updating GPS Software" (if required). Once you get to the main menu and there are no more texts coming up on the screen. Press the power button and turn your unit off and then back on again. Check the GPS and Bluetooth firmware versions in your Nuvi. It should be 3.0 for the GPS and 3.4 for the Bluetooth. Check the firmware version if you selected v4.7. Go to the Garmin website and download their Webupdater program. Run it and plug your Nuvi into the PC using the USB cable. It will upgrade your Nuvi firmware and then ask if you want to select other software. Select the one labeled GPS chipset G. After it has finished, make sure you deselect the Nuvi and unplug the cable. The Nuvi will reboot and say "LOADER" and will reboot with the latest firmware and attempt to update the GPS software to v3.0. After it has rebooted, turn it off and then on again. Check the GPS software version. It should be 3.0. If it's still 0.0, then your antenna/receiver is bad and needs to be replaced.

mumbo jumbo....use the webupdater, check the firmware and voice/text you need, the web updater will download them to the nuvi, when downloaded webupdater will tell you, unplug the nuvi and wait patiently for it to reboot about twice....finished.

Wow, as soon as I got my nuvi 360 I turned the Bluetooth off. I then updated to 4.40 and the bluetooth SW version is now 0.00 and i cant even enable the bluetooth again. I think we have the same problem. I wish I could help but I am in the same boat.
