My playstation3 does not read games

blu ray drive could be bad,,,try disc cleaner,,blow out dust ,,and try game

you need to purchase a lazer disc cleaner it looks and works just like a normal dvd disc but it has brushes on it that when put through the player brushes the dust of the laser lens this needs to be done on a regular bases to keep your lazer working to its optimum level and hense fixing your problem.

my playstation3 freezes when i try to play a game

This happened with my mates a few weeks ago, it was the blu-ray player drive that was broken and unfortunatly it was out of warrenty so he had to pay 100 quid! Check all discs, other games, dvds etc then if still not working its most probably that. Contact Sony!

Well you seem to have the same problem i had, you updated your ps3 and now it wont read any blueray at all....

you probaly wont like what im about to say.....

but there is 2 options....

1. If you still have warrenty left on your machine, then use it now. (go down to the shop where you bought it and have it replaced or send to service.)

2. If no warrenty, well then you still have 2 options, but these cost money.

2.1. You can still send it to service at any store that sells ps3, but they will charge you a fee. (about 150$)

2.2. Or you can find a blueray lens and then replace it your self, its an easy task and can be done in about 1½ for one that never opened a ps3. you can find tutorials on youtube how to replace it.
( it does require that you know how to handle a screwdriver )

A new lens will fix this problem, i had it myself and just replaced my lens with a new, and now it works again.

IT DOES WANNA READ THE GAMES TRY REFORRMATTING IT BUT BACK UP FIRST OR TRY NOT PUTTING RIPPED GAMES U NEED A MODDED PS3 LIKE MINE TO DO THAT

try the game on a friends ps3, if it works then your system is shot and needs to be replaced/exchanged...
the game disk its self would NOT crash the ps3 as long as it is a original ps disk and not a rip
