Check your scanner for a model number. I have found an online manual for the Uniden BCT15X from Uniden: http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BCT15X . This model has the TrunkTracker III logo to the upper left of the LCD screen. The Uniden logo is to the lower left of the LCD screen. The model number is given above the upper right of the LCD screen. Then the Bearcat logo is below the right side of the LCD screen. Some other Uniden scanner manuals are available here: http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/UnidenScannersUsersGuides . Scroll down to the Individual Scanners section to find the links.
you may have to do a manual scan..or find out what frequency the different companies and police ,fire and airplanes use,,then you may need an outdoor scanner antenna,,the small antenna that comes with the scanner only picks up very strong signals,,,to program the scanner you may have to search online for programming info,,,,good luck
