Have a look at your printer software settings. You may have it set to black and white only. There may also be a driver that was missed during installation to allow colour printing. Try reinstalling the software.

SOURCE: Hp K80 printer

I had the same problem, and it seems to have corrected itself. I too, installed a new "45" black cartridge and got the message to remove and check color cartridge. After I removed it and cleaned it the message stayed on the display for about 5 minutes and then asked me to "align cartriges." After I aligned them I had no problems.

SOURCE: HP J4500 color cartridge error

Take the cartridge out and clean the contacts off with something (ie: pencil eraser, your thumb...) That worked for me! I couldn't find a solution anywhere even after chatting with online tech support from HP. Quick and painless! I hope this helps...

CAN NOT PRINT

Press the Power switch to turn off the product, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power. Wait for the product to initialize before proceeding.
If you are using a surge protector, remove it. Plug the product directly into the wall outlet. Press the Power switch to turn on the product.
If the error persists, contact HP to determine if the product needs to be serviced.

Paper Jam keeps appearing

At the print driver there is a paper size selection before you print.Select the proper size and weight and it will work fine for you.

Says Paper Jam but ther is no paper jam

It appear from here that the exit sensor may be dirty and you can use canned air and blow it out.

You may also be missing the paper out sensor that is located at the bottom of the printer oposite of the paper tray when you pull it out. When the flag arm has fallin out, it will give a false paper jam error when the last sheet has printed from the tray, not knowing or detecting that the tray is now empty.

I do'nt see any paper being jammed.

when the message appear? Turn on printer or starting to print? If message appear at beginning turn on printer is caused by "something " slip at paper feeder. But if it appear at start to print, it caused by chip error? Do you use CISS chip?

Printer is not working

Try pushing the print head carriage with a bit of gentle force. It is getting stuck, and hence the error. You may have to open side and top covers to reach this. Note: this is not the cartridges, but another device that moves back and forth on the slider carriage.
