1,If you still have the old tv, reconnect.
2 turn on power after connecting cables making sure audio goes into ado and video into video.- very important.
3. do you get the pic, and sound?
4 if you do, do the settings to your choice.
will talk about new if the old does not work, good luck lindamilo.

SOURCE: Sony Bravia XBR 40" LCD

First, HORIZONTAL CENTER.
1) Press MENU.
2) Scroll to SETTINGS.
3) Scroll to SCREEN.
4) Go to HORIZONTAL CENTER. Move the picture to the right. Hopefully, the line will go away. Otherwise, there is a problem with the pixels or the signal processor. Call 1-800-222-SONY. Or, http://eservice.sony.com. Have a high-limit credit card handy for out of warranty repairs. Sorry about that.

SOURCE: sony bravia kdl 32l4000 - color bars running vertically on screen

In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

SOURCE: Sony BRAVIA volume problem

I had this same issue, and solved it by putting the TV in "Theater Mode', which can be acheived by hitting the "Theater" button on the remote.

Sony Bravia model #KDL52WL130 worked fine for first year then picture went very dark for the 1st 30 minutes it was on but eventually cleared up. Now it takes longer and screen is completely blank. Sound...

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years, some sooner, because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps
