Maytag MFX2570AEM stopped dispensing water & ice after changing water filter

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator is not producing enough ice. I would advise to check and make sure that your water filter has a secure connection, if need be uninstall and reinstall the water filter to assure connection. Your filter should be changed every six months, if it is has not been changed recently I would recommend exchanging it.

Try this... unplug frig and take everything out, leave the doors open as well. let everything thaw out for at least 2 days. then plug in and see if water comes out. what we are trying to do is make sure that the water hasn't frozen inside the door. i seen this happen and it drove me crazy. try this because i want to save you money from guessing whats wrong and buying parts. if the water comes back on then let me know and i will find the kit you need to stop this problem

ok if the water still doen't come out then make sure you have enough water pressure going to the frig.

another problem could be a plugged water filter, you can try to put a new one (every 6 months recommend) to see if this corrects the problem

take off the connector at the water valve and see if there is any debris

if all fails the only thing left is the water valve itself

repairs should be performed by a qualified technician. if there isn't ice in the ice bucket located in the freezer you have a water flow problem. if there is water going to the filter and nothing out of the freezer then you have a clogged freezer replace it. if these things are ok then yes it could be the electronic control. filter failure is a common problem.

you may have dislodged a sensor or perhaps you may have blocked your water line somehow... im not sure about this specific model, but just try having a look at what you did and see if there are sensors around there.. and make sure u havent dropped anything in there wich may have clogged the lines... lets hope its not your solenoid that has gone, sounds unlikely though you never know

Hollow cubes are caused by not having enough water in the ice mold. Fill it up manually by pouring water in it and see how the cubes turn out.
look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water. + is more water.


Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

There is a screen filter before the water inlet valve in the water line. It can get partially stopped up with sediment blocking water flow.

You have a mesh screen in the water supply line where it connects to the water inlet valve. It can be stopped up with sediment.

Water frozen in the freezer supply line - you need to thaw out the freezer. About six hours, door open, turn freezer OFF. You'll need a cooler with dry ice for your frozen food. 99% certain it'll work after that.

You're funny. This is a portable 12/120 volt model. It dosn't have a water dispenser or ice maker :-)
