SOURCE: nx7010 does not start.

Hello dear, probably some BIOS values changed, causing u no displays. Try this key combination immediately after startup

esc - loads bios, but not in display
F9 - (hope its F9 in ur laptop) resets BIOS
F10 - saves BIOS to default values and exits
RESTART

Or else try removing CMOS battery, its right beneath the keyboard. (Just remove 1 screw) Remove and hold for 1 minute and then reinsert and turn up laptop on. Your PC should be fine.

Usb ports not working

You may need to turn on USB emulation in the system BIOS. To do that you'll need to power the system down. When it first turns on you'll see the Compaq logo with instructions to enter setup somewhere on the screen (I can't remember if that model asks you to hit F1 or F2, try both). Once in the "setup" you'll want to look for USB support. More than likely it's going to be in the peripherals screen.

Also, I recommend downloading and updating the BIOS to the newest version. You can get all the downloads for your system on the HP/Compaq website.
