Try turning the breaker for the dishwasher off for 30 seconds and turn it back on. This should reset the dishwasher control board. If it still doesn't work then most likely the power failure burned up the main control board. The control boards in the newer dishwashers are sensitive to any type of power surges or failures.
Not sure why your unit would reset to factory settings, it's usually the thermostat settings that control the unit and resets when you have a power failure. Most thermostats have a battery in then to power the thermostat during a power failure. They usually only maintain the power from 15 to 30 minutes to maintain your settings, before defaulting back to factory settings. After every power failure you usually have to replace the batteries.
If the system is disconnected from the AC power it will not operate. Your announcemen and messages are retained in memory during a power failure but you will need to reset the clock. See the instructions on the bottom of the unit. If the message window displays CL, you need to reset the clock. See the instruction on the bottom of the unit.
