Hello,

I believe the Fan #1 on Samsungs is usually either the Fan that directly cools the lamp or the exhaust fan right next to it. But as a tech I would recommend that you carefully check all fans by taking the back cover off and finding the trip switch (it needs to be held down, usually blue that indicated the cover is on). when the tv is powered on and the screen comes on the fans should begin to work, you can visually inspect and replace then =)

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions

On display says check fan # 1

It should be the fan at the lamp---a suggestion is if the set in a dusty environment---with cover off blow all the dust out of the set--dust on a fan will slow it and can cause this issue.

Is there any solution for "check fan 1" Samsung LN40A650A LCD TV

Just fixed my Samsung LN40 check fan #1.Unplug, Take the back off (like 20 screws were hard to find them all) fan is exposed in the middle. Unscrew fan, used q-tips and nozzle tool on vacuum cleaner to remove built up dust gunk. Blew in center of fan to dislodge dust. Screwed fan back on, plugged in to see if fan was spinning to cool TV. It was and the check fan message disappeared. Put the back on. Feeling Lucky no big repair.

I have a Sony SXRD 55" tv I recently changed the bulb but now the tv gets an overheating display when turned on for about 1/2 hour. I vaccumed the dust out of the tv checked for any blockage.Fan goes...

The fan going off can very well be the cause of this problem. Please messure the DC voltage being supplied to the fan and let me know . Also get me the board marking of teh fan(EX; Fan 01, 02, etc.) as your set has 4 fans. Please provide this info so that I can tell you if its the fan thats faulty or the circuit that its drawing power from.

Check fan # 1

There is a slight possibility that fan #1 is still good. I would still investigate it though. If the heat is not controlled, more damage could be done. I'm not sure which fan is #1. I think on the PCB of the TV would have some kinda of marking that would say FAN 1, FAN 2, etc.

but you could specify the problem a bit accurately
