To changethe Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware -Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVDdrive and click Properties then click on DVD Region. You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have beenmade. NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the4th change. Region 4 = Australia If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmwareto make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrongfirmware the player will be a piece of junk. The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece ofsoftware (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region andPasskey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There areseveral available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: - www.dvdfab.com/products,free.htm
NoThese days most of the companies are producing Region 0/ALL DVDs If you can get them OR buy a dual region DVD i.e. Region 2/4 which can play on both the regions. Most of the DVDs produced in India are multiregions. Choice is yours now
There is no region free firmware available for your player at the moment. There is a guy in australia who has created one but will not release it. HD DVD's dont have region coding. I assume its for regular dvds?
This is a link to a page that tells you how to unlock this player. It involves downloading a file then burning to CD which you then put in the player. Hope this helps.
Hi. Same problem re TOSHIBA portable DVD player bought in the USA, model SD-P91SKN. Wonder if anyone found the solution to unlock it to multi-region? Thanks!
Most DVDs can only play DVDs from a single region. However, they sometimes allow you to change the region at least one time. Another option is to make your DVD player region free. This is a hack that can be performed. Once you do this, you can play DVDs from any region.
