Thanks for your answers. Well, the problem is that I don't have the computer by me now. It is hundert kilometer away from me. They gave me only the model number of the computer and I thought that looking at the site in HP it would be enough to find out what is the best model for the memories, but this model I have not found in the site. So the data I have is Compaq D51C/P18A/40/P/128c LTNA and the serial number 6y2A-KN87-M09Y.The processor is Intel Pentium 4, 1.8 GHz with Cache L2 512KB. Hope this help to clarify.

Yes it's possible to expand your PC memory module RAM, for the best memory RAM - it's best to review/check the product/operations manual of your PC to make sure what are the type & size of memory RAM your PC motherboard can support. per my research on your PC model, the type & size of memory RAM compatible to your PC is 1GB PC-2100 unbuffered DDR DIMM. best regards

Yes, it may be possible, though it's proving difficult to find specifications for this slightly older desktop. The type of RAM that you would be looking for is PC-2100. If you want the best performance though, I suggest running 2 sticks of 512MB each (as chances are the system probably won't support more than 1GB of RAM)

New memory nx6110

Did you remove and replace 1 or 2 RAM modules? There are 2 modules installed. One is internal and one is external. Both MUST BE OF THE SAME DENSITY OR THE LAPTOP WILL NOT WORK. You will need a second 1GB RAM Module, then use the link below to download the service manual for your laptop. Accessing the internal RAM module is fairly easy...follow the directions and you will have not problems. You CAN remove the internal one and operate the device on the single 1GB module, but I would recommend if you do that, you put the 1GB module in the internal slot. Then later, if you wish, you can add more RAM without additional disassembly. By doing this you will at least double your RAM from the 512MB you had to !GB. You can double it again with the second RAM Module to 2GB later.

.GO Here. Find Remove/Replace procedure for Internal Memory Module.

IBM T23 wont turn on after adding new RAM

Hi - according to memory suppliers your T23 has the following memory capacity / requirements:

  • IBM ThinkPad T23 maximum RAM capacity: 1GB
  • Your IBM has Two (2) memory slots or sockets
  • Module upgrade PIN count is: 144-PIN
  • The memory speed is: SDRAM 133MHz, PC133
  • The laptop DIMM type for the ThinkPad T23 is: SODIMM, SO-DIMM, Small Outline DIMM
  • Non ECC

If you are meeting these requirements, you may have a defective module.

Also, according to Lenovo's page on the machine:

Memory
The system has 128MB or 256MB of memory standard and can be configured for up to 1GB of addressable memory. Memory options up to 512MB SDRAM SO DIMMs each can be added in the two available slots for memory expansion. The standard 128MB of memory is expandable up to 640MB and the 256MB of memory is expandable up to 768 MB of addressable memory with 64, 128, 256, or 512MB SO DIMMs without removing the 128MB SO DIMM that is standard in one of the internal slots for memory. For customers that need the maximum 1GB to which memory can be expanded, it is necessary to replace the 128MB or 256MB card with a 512MB card plus add another 512MB card in the extra slot. Only 133MHz DIMM memory can be used in this system. The use of 100MHz DIMM memory is not supported in the T23 systems.

This means yo can trouble shoot the 512MB modules individually by installing one of the original 128MB modules and one of the new 512MB modules (for a total system memory of 640MB). If it does not boot, try again with the other 512MB module. This will help you identify a defective module that may be preventing the machine from booting.

I hope this helps & good luck!

I have a HP 7600dc Small Form pentium4HT 3.4 GHZ. it has 1GB of Ram with 4 slots whats the best, safest way to max out the RAM in this machine? What type of RAM do i need?

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Slots: 4
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
icon_note.gifAlthough the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules. When using PC2-5300 parts the maximum memory is 2GB. When using PC2-4200 the maximum is 4GB.

Installed 2GB of RAM (2x1GB). Laptop only recognizing 1GB. How do I get Sony Vaio VGN FS 760 to recognize 100% of RAM?

Sony VAIO VGN-FS 760/W supports PC-3200 400MHz and PC2-4200 533MHz DDR2 RAM
Expandable up to 2GB. Please make sure that both RAM Chips are according to the above specification, compatible with yout system and both sticks are the same (make & bus speed). Try using one RAM at a time and swaping RAM slots to see if the amount of memory is shown correctly. Memory is not recognized only when it is not up to the specifiction. If the RAM sticks are ok, the system shoud recognize them.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Good Luck!
Hope this helps!

I have a compaq presario cq60-215dx notebook pc, was wondering how do i go about upgrading the RAM?

I have checked the Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX Specification It Originally has 2GB Memory and supports upto 4GB RAM max. If you intend to upgrade the RAM, you can buy additional RAM and put them in you system. Here is the HP Guide to Replace RAM and How to Upgrade RAM Guide
Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX has two RAM slots for DDR-2 (533 or 667) Memory Modules. First you have to check that the RAM slot is available for additional RAM. I believe that it has two modules of 1GB each in both slots. So, you have to get two modules of RAM 2GB each to upgrade to 4GB (or one 2GB RAM module to upgrade to 3GB). Hence, it is recommended that you get 2GB replacement module for each 1GB module you have on you system from local laptop repair/ service center, which would be cost effective as existing 1GB RAM Modules would be useless for you upon upgrade.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Appreciate generously, if the solution could have been of any help!
