That means connection has been established but not the ADSL. Ask you ISP to provide the current DNS addresses, gateway & IP if your IP is a static IP address...............sodeep

If your driver are ok then is your computer is in same WORKGROUP like other are(If you are in LAN connection and sharing internet with other). was there any IP address in your computer before you formatted it? make it confirm and if IP was there then give back the IP to tour connection.
you need to install network adapter first before you can connect to internet
check it at device manager, is there any yellow mark?if yes insert you motherboard cd driver
then chose to install LAN card driver
the otherway is install from device manager. with cd driver inserted right click at yellow mark then chose update driver, follow the step untill process finish and the yellow mark at device manager disappear
try to connect to internet through your modem
slow USB (thrumb drive, reads or writes slow or both)?????
the bios all USB ports enabled firest
the USB drivers from BIOSTAR loaded forget that ??? I bet yes;
front USB2 ports and rear USB ports fail?????? or just one.
the intel ICH7 chip runs up to 10x, USB2 ports so is not a problem.
why not get working driver from BIOS STAR
XP is a virus magnet never seen one not infected now or for 10 years, XP driver seen on the web are all infected
the ones at BIOStar are good. (and microsoft.com direct)
1,there is a reset button
2,press this using any pin with power
3,automatically restart
4,connect your router with pc
5,type 192.168.1.1 on the browser
username:admin
password:admin12 or admin
configure router
enable dhcp
After the update, enter your bios and make sure your onboard modem is enabled. This could be another problem - the modem MUST be enabled in BIOS in order to work.
Additionally, there are drivers available for your specific motherboard model - go to the following site:
http://www.xpvistasite.com/m963gv_v5.0_19473.htm
These are windows drivers for your motherboard - they work across nearly all windows platforms.
If you do all of those steps, and it still doesn't work, let me know!
Good luck!
If you are sure it is a motherboard problem relating to the on board ethernet connection, purchase a PCI slot ethernet card and see if using the card manufacturers drivers are better than the motherboard ethernet drivers.
Although i'm not sure how a slow connection is the motherboard problem, it maybe that it's SP2 thats the problem.
Have you checked the driver that is used for the onboard ethernet connection, it maybe you need to re-install original motherboard ethernet driver you got with it.
