Initially I loved my kodak printer. Then, I first had problems when using the copy machine feature...they used to look great, but one day it starting producing copies which were very light and hard to read, as if there was not enough ink...although there was plenty of ink. Now, suddenly, when I print from my computer, the printer take the paper and sounds like it is printing, but the sheets come out blank. Again, there is ink in my printer, so it is not a matter of simply replacing the cartridges...I'm ready to throw the thing out the window.
Problem is likely to be the print head, the ink can dry up inside the print head and block fresh ink from flowing.
you can get print head cleaning solution from ebay, which sometimes works, or else go here to get your replacement print head

SOURCE: new ink cartridge for Kodak Easy Share 5300 will not work
Yeah, Kodak should state that a PC with Windows XP or Mac with OSX is required for maintenance and upgrading and solving problems that were fixed after the release.
The first suggestion I have for you is find a friend, family member, or co-worker who has windows XP and the internet that can download the software and update the firmware on your printer. The printer may have even wrote a empty value on the new intank making it now worthless, requiring a new ink tank
Sadly there was a line of the 5300 printers that were released with a firmware bug that when the ink tank went empty and the user replaces the ink tank the printer still says the tank is empty.
A last ditch effort could be to remove the ink tanks and the printhead. Unplug the printer. wait like 5 mins. Then plug the printer back it. it will ask for a printhead. install the printhead. close the door. it will then ask for ink tanks. open the door and install the ink tanks and see if it will take them.
I feel bad for people in your situation who were led to believe the product was flawless out of the box and no PC was or will ever be needed.

SOURCE: kodak printer prints blank pages
When you print from an internet site page and the Kodak box come up on your screen showing that it's printing, do not close this box until you've finished printing or it will print a blank page.

I think if I have to replace the printhead again, I'll replace the printer. The ink is cheaper by the cartridge, but the cartridge does not last near as long. Not sure it's cheaper, and am sure it's not 50 per cent cheaper as they claim. When it works it's great, but it's getting a short trip to the dumpster when it quits again.

I have the same problem with the exception of mine will print (although very light) magenta and yellow... I just replaced the both color and black cartridges and have cleaned the print heads a few times... PLEASE HELP
I have the same problem. The printer won't print anything but the Kodak header. Printer is just over a year old and I have replaced ink twice. Great- that the ink is cheaper but I need to replace the printer every year, it's not a better deal!! Now I've got a bunch of opened useless ink. Very frustrating! And, I would love any solutions that are out there!
