Scanning Size I have a Benq ScanWit 2720S 35mm film scanner.  Can you scan to a bigger size than the negative size?  I have tried many times to scan to the output size to 10 x 8 inches but it says I can only scan to 1 x 1.? inches or so size (which is the size of the negative!) Is there a way to make an enlargement of a negative? Surely it does not just scan in as the negative size... Thanks a lot

Do not try to change the scan size, change the resolution. The window that appears when you want to scan should have a resolution (DPI) area that can be changed. IE: 300 DPI to 800 DPI. This changes the picture size.

However, the negative is large enough that ordinary flat-bed scanners with a film attachment will be sufficient for scanning.

SCSI to USB conversion for Film Scanner
SCSI to USB converters are available, but I doubt they will be of much help for you, you'd still need a special driver for your scanner.
Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate support "XP Mode", essentially a Windows XP environment running in a virtual machine. I'd try to get the SCSI interface card and scanner to run inside the VM as a workaround.

Computer restarts when trying to aquire photo's
go to control panel, then system,advanced tab, startup and recovery. look under startup and recovery then uncheck the block that says automacilly restart then ok. you are experiencing a software- hardware failure and when you do this you may be able to provide enough info to lead to the repair. could be as simple as an incompatible driver

OVT scanner does not calibrate nor allow "acquire picture"
I had a similar problem. Driver of scanner was ok.
Went to configuration->device manager-> in list checked the USB controllers and updated the Enhanced usb2 controller. Reboot and re-install de scanner driver. Most likely this will solve your problem
