I had the same problem. Error code E04 with a full load of laundry and water in the washer. Unplug the power to the washer. Take off the round cover plate in the front right. Mine did not turn clockwise or counter-clockwise, it was completely stuck. Used two flat tip screwdrivers to carefully pry it away, without damaging anything. The plate is a hard plastic but just pliable enough.
Once removed, you will see the pump (img_0001). Unscrew the pump cover slowly. There will be water coming out, so be prepared. In my case we had a LOT of water, so I drained it gradually into a couple of large garbage bags. Wrap the bag opening tightly against the pump surround to minimize spills (img_0002).
Once all the water is gone, remove the pump cover and clean out any items trapped in the pump and in the drain from the drum (img_0003). In my case it was some loose change and a small ColorCatcher sheet. Reassemble the pump and you're done.

Ignore the beginning of the first paragraph, somehow MS Word formatting directives got in there. Solution begins at sentence "
I had the same problem."
Thank you very much. I followed your instructions and found a piece of fabric softener stucked in the pump. After removing it and replacing the cover we ran 3 complete cycles without any stoppage the spin cycle seems to be working as intended. You saved us lots of money that would have gone to a Bosch repairman and my marriage...thanks.
Thank you so much for this detailed explanation with the pictures. It was so amazingly helpful. I had some linen clogging the pump and once I followed all the steps, things got back to normal. Thanks again.
Awesome explanation! I called the place where we got the washer from and they told me itwould cost over $500 to come and fix the problem because my washer door wouldn't open and that there was a very expensive part that I needed to order. They said I was better off coming in to buy a new washer. SCAM ARTISTS!! Thank God for you directions!! That E-04 code will never haunt me again! By the way, for the record...it was my newborn's sock that was caught in the pump. Took it out and started washing clothes! NO PROBLEM!

Found a manual online, my husband took the round front plate off and we found a SOCK in the place where the water gets to the pump. Thank goodness for my handy-dandy-mr. fix-it man. But how did a sock get in there???Works great, now!
