Book copying How do you copy a book on this copier and get both pages but on separate pieces of paper? The previous copier had such a feature but for the life of me, I can not figure out how to do it on this one without have to physically pick up the book and move it which sort of defeats the purpose, really. I MAKE A COPY AND I GET MY COPY BUT I ALSO GET A BLANK SHEET.

See if your copier has "Book mode" if so it's scanning you original and looking and scanning for an open book, i.e. page left on glass and page Right (two) on glass. Like you had a book flattened out on the glass. Make any since? #2 possible malfunction in print button. #3. Are sheets coming out stuck together or do they appear to be two separate scans?

Hi
If you go here:- MX M503N MXM503N Digital Copier Printer Archive Sharp you will get to a page with a list of manuals etc which you can download in pdf formet and which you will be able to use to find out how to do what you want. If you search "book", then there are a variety of options that are described.
I think you should be aware that copying a book in this way is subject to copyright laws.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

I'm trying to photocopy a book on a canon imagerunner 5075 without copying one page at a time and flipping the book around. Is there a way where the copier scans the right page and then scans the left page...

Hi Kim,
there are a couple of easy ways to tackle this problem. you have a book that when the spline is opened exposes 2 pages to the glass for the possibility of copying. What YOU need to determine is whether or not you want page 1 to ouput seperately from page 2, or , would you like page one to be on one side and page 2 to be on the second side. In other words auto duplex. That decision determines which feature you will use. I will walk you thru both. I realize you want the copier to scan the first page and then scan the second without you having to move the book around. I'm thinking you would be happy if the copier did that very thing and you wound up with a 2 sided copy with page 1 on the front and page 2 on the back. Here we go. Fom the main copy display locate the 2 sided button and select it. Select "book 2 sided" and follow the prompts. You could actually copy the entire book this way and when you are thru press "done" and here comes the avalanche!
If you want the images 1 sided on seperate sheets (not sure why) you can select "special features" from the display in the lower right corner and select "2 page seperation". same drill.

When copying a book there are black inks in border

If you copy something that is smaller than the paper you are printing on, this will happen, especially with a book. The copier will copy everything within the sensor range, and if there are no area to copy, it will scan in the blank space. With a book, the cover will be elevated, and the sensor will pick up the "black" border you are talking about and copy it to the paper.

Printing works fine but copying or faxing results in large black lines across the whole page

Hello,

You have a dirty scanner glass strip. If you open the cover like you are going to scan a book on the lft side you will see a strip of glass separate from the larger piece. This glass is the area use when you use the paper feed assembly. Dampen a piece of paper towel with window cleaner and wipe the glass strip. You may need to clean it several times if there is dried ink or something on it. Allow about 2 minutes to dry and then copy or scan something and it should be much better.

I hope this helps, If so please rate my solution.

Can't get the copier to scan only 8.5*11 area on glass

Set your original settings to the actual size.
You are using the auto recognition feature which is over-ridden when you specify the size manually.
It will try to match it to the nearest size it "knows". That is why the stamp is detecting so large.

It dosent enlarge the document in book copy mode in sharp ar 5320

You can not enlarge when set to book copy since the machine is not able to rotate the image to fit on bigger size of paper.you need a machine with rotation feature like the Sharp ar-5127 with a dual function board.
