TP-Link range extenter to repeat distant weak wifi signal.

I don't have my own broadband or router to get internet. My wireless laptop sometimes connects to a free (but weak )wi-fi signal. Can I configure & connect a wifi Yagi (to increase the wifi signal)to the TP-Link extender then have the extender 'repeat' the wifi signal wirelessly to my laptop and iPad?

SOURCE: i have a TP-LINK TL-WR940N

I have the same problem. Some people says that its because of interference from other neighbors' wireless signals or any other in the surrounding etc.You can go to Router Properties and change the CHANNEL to 6 or 11 and observe any changes.

SOURCE: disable Nat TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND

yeap it should be the firewall, here is the manual http://www.tp-link.com/resources/software/201161017075118.pdf
think this should help you.
But if you want my expertise, make the tp-link as a router and vdsl just the internet line. connect it to router wan and buy a switch for all your devices. That should be the safest and smartest way.

Testimonial: "Hi, I've finally found some time to test the dissabling the FW and I can say that in my case it helped. I can see now from TP-LINK IP cameras connected to the VDSL modem/router. Well done guys, thank you for your help. Kvinar"

Me tp-link give weak internet and some times dissconected but when i uesed by wire give excellant internet speed

Most probable cause is the materials used in the construction on the home/office or where ever you have the router. Your options would be to move the router to a more central location or you could invest in some repeaters/wireless extender to extend the range of the signal. IF you use wireless extenders please note you will need to make sure they all have the same SSID (name seen for your network) and make each device is on either channels 1,6 or 11. So your first device would be say 1 (Doesn't matter which you pick) the next device would be on 6 and then next on 11. If you had another device, hypothetically you would want it on 1. These three channels do not overlap enough to interfere with each other.

Poor signal range - I have just moved to a new three storey house. My router is installed at the front of the house on the main/mid floor. I receive a very weak signal on my laptop in my kitty corner...

The general rule for WiFi is to have the router placed at a reasonable height above the items that wish to use it. This is because the radio waves travel downwards
It was probably a repeater that was recommended to boost the signal.

I bought a wireless Linksys wireles- G router used for 5.00. They said that it had a weak signal. I hooked it up and sure enough I have a weak signal. So weak that it does not connect to anything but there...

I made mine into a range expander with this information

http://lifehacker.com/#!5563196/turn-your-old-router-into-a-range+boosting-wi+fi-repeater

If you up to the challenge and can follow instructions, takes about 30 min to do.
When you put on the new OS for the router you can up your signal too.

My router routes to my laptop within my house and

The possible cause is the router is not able to extend the signal to that range. Try using a range extender to boost your wireless signal. Signal strength depends on the router. So adding a range extender should solve this issue

I have the DIR-655. Poor coverage/Signal strength

What kind of construction surrounds your router? Weak signal indicates walls reducing signal strength. Try a repeater in weak areas.
