False Voicemail Alert

My phone displays false new voicemail alerts every few minutes, even though there are no new voice messages when I check. The voicemail icon doesnt go away after I check it. The voicemail line on the home message screen says 240 by it, when I know there are nowhere near 240 new messages in my inbox.

How do you check your voicemail on a VTech cordless phone

The cordless phone pictured appears to be a VTech CS6114
and an Answering Machine System is not part of this phone.

** BUT ** an Answering Machine System is not the same
as "VoiceMail" anyway.

VoiceMail is an option offered by some (not all) telephone
service providers, and each of those who do offer the feature
employ specific procedures unique to themselves.

Check with your Telephone Service Provider to see if you
do have a VoiceMail service activated and how to go about
using it.

Per the CS6114 User Manual, the display indication shown,
"New VoiceMail", will be removed from the cordless phone
handset when you have accessed the providers' VoiceMail
system and played/cleared the messages.

If the alert display persists, it can be cleared from the handset
by the following (tested on my own cs6114 phone):
===========================
press [menu]
scroll to "Settings"
press [select]
scroll to "Clr voicemail"
press [select]
display reads "Reset VM Icon?"
press [select]
phone will (chirp)
press [off ] [off ]
===========================
Good luck!

Voice mail alert light blinking but there is no unanswered voice mail

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Can't get flashing red light to shut off for voicemail alert, even though there are no messages

That depends on your service provider. If they give you Voicemail then you should be able to shut it. If they dont then it wont shut off.

Voicemail alert tones

I think that there is just a generic message alert tone setting applies for both vm and text. If your voicemail alert tone and message alert tones are the same, this is probably the case. I have searched the menu on my phone and haven't found any setting to change vm tone specifically.
