Unit does not do anything gas on and correct voltage to unit

The 3E133 (or similar) Infra-Red Heater with correct voltage to the circuit board should produce a spark at the spark ignitor rod within a few seconds of having power applied. If it doesn't, one of the following could be the problem:1. circuit board (ignition controller) is bad2. The gap between the spark ignitor rod and the middle rod (ground) is incorrect. It should be between 1/8" & 3/16"3. There is not a good ground. This could be due to rust or a loose connection at any point between the equipment ground and the spark ignitor rod, including the ignitor mounting screws.4. The spark ignitor rod or its orange wire is grounded, such as touching metal and thus "short circuiting" rather than allowing the spark ignitor rod to be 1/8" from "ground".
That's all I can think of that would cause NOTHING to happen.

DAYTON 3E133E LIGHTS AND THEN SHUTS DOWN. IT GOES THROUGH THE CYCLE 2 OR 3 TIMES BEFORE IT STOPS TRYING. I REPLACED THE CIRCUIT BOARD THINKING IT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT IT DID NOT WORK. THE ONLY...

After the sparking begins, the circuit board needs to prove the flame is present or it will quit sending voltage to the gas valve, then lock out after a few attempts. Flame proof is 1 microamp (1 millionth of an amp) DC between the flame sensor rod and the ground rod (middle rod). This DC amperage is produced by the current flowing through the flame between those two rods, and up the white wire to the circuit board. The flame sensor rod and the ground rod must be in the correct location, which is about 1/16" from the ceramic grid, maybe even 1/8". Neither rod should be "shorted out" (touching each other or any nearby metal), otherwise current is not flowing through the flame. Make sure the wire connection at the flame sensor rod is not loose or corroded.

3E461LP coversion

you need to find the gas jet that feeds the burner, the jet has to be changed to natural gas, which is a bigger jet. some of them can't be changed because the jet is part of the gas line

Have a dayton hanging garage heater when trys to start acts like gas valve not opening heaters brand new.what should i look for

I have never seen a dayton gas heater but I will try. If this is an LP Gas
System are you using a 30lb. Cylinder, 100 lb cylinder or a whole house
Tank.

Next are you sure you got the right gas unit for the right gas system?
If using LP gas did you put an external pressure regulator before the unit?

Next is the a hot surface glow coil or a spark system ignition system?
If you have to hold the controller down and press a button similar to a outdoor gas grille is it sparking?

If it is sparking, did you bleed all of the air out? This could take several
tries on a new unit. Does this have a wall mounted thermostat that
controls the heater? Finally check to make sure that the gas valve
is switched on if it has that option.

Good Luck

Want to change Dayton 3E133E from natural gas to Propane

Would have to have conversion kit IF available. Must get from mfr. The Dayton brand is owned exclusively by W.W.Grainger. Not sure if someone else makes their furnaces for them. Start w/ Grainger, if they won't sell to you maybe they will give you the name of a company who will work on it. Good Luck!

Dayton Infrared natural gas heater ignition/flame sensor

Yes, the flame sensor is part of the intermittent pilot assembly. Check the following: make sure all grounding wires are secure and no corrosion is built up on them. Clean or replace the pilot assembly, also clean out the orifice with a very small drill. Make sure the sensor is in the flame and make sure the pilot tube is not leaking gas reducing the gas pressure at the pilot.

If it continues, you will have to replace the ignition control.
