5 times LED blinks in Panasonic PT-47WX42 shows problem with convergence out
chips failure as this tv has two big black ICs STK392-110 as convergence output,
replace them to fix tv problem.
The 5 blinks is indicating the lamp ballast needs replacement your model uses the Sony lamp Ballast 147401211 for sony models

Hi there, 5 blinks means there is a problem with the video board. It could be as simple as unplugging everything, includding power. Wait 3 minutes then plug power only back in. Or it may be a damaged component that requires replacing. Hope this helps TV_Doctors
That's the LA-3 LCD projection unit. 5 blinks on that model means a lamp driver error. You would need the service manual to diagnose exactly whats wrong with the system. I have included a link where you can get the entire 121 page service manual for your set if you would like it. i also have the same problem with the flashing green light for a while then a different red light starts blinking on and off around 5 times....and i replaced my burnt bulb with a new one...still no picture.
