3 Gigaworks S750 dont work after a central electric power failure

I have a Creative Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and Gigaworks S750 system. Yesterday when I arrived late at home, I realized that I had a power failure in the house (I live in Romania now...so go figure). The computer has a UPS so no problem there but the speaker system was conected through a converter to the outlet.

Now, the problem consists of 3 out of the 7 speakers now have a white noise (which means are not burned out): the front and the left and right side speakers. The two on the front and the back work as before and the subwoofer as well. I reinstaled the creative software and upgraded the drivers but still the same problem. I run the calibration and that did not solved the problem. I run music and on those above mentioned did not hear anything but the same noise..

What could it be the problem?

Well, I dont think is the problem with the music. I tried to play a game and had the same problem. On sunday I played two games and had no sound problem at all. Those speakers do not respond at all. I used creative software calibration and again those speakers did not respond but just low level noise.

    FLASHING POWER LIGHT, NO SOUND

  • Anonymous Sep 11, 2008

I have the exact same problem, but I haven't had any power outage like described in this situation. I just get white noise from three of my speakers, one of them the front. The rest of the system sounds to be working perfectly...

Based on my understanding on electronics. maybe the 3 speakers your talking about doesnt resoponds to the frequencies on the music you are playing because a 7.1 souround speakers, each speakers are designed to respond at a certain frequecies.

So try playing movies instead of music and try lowering or not connecting the rest of the speakers and listen closely to the 3 speakers your talking about if you hear any sounds at all...

hope it help...

Gigaworks S750 Speaker System. Do you need the audio pod for the sub and surround speakers to work? Can they work with volume control from the PC?

It is a fully integrated system that is powered from the sub which contains the power board, the amplifier and heat sink, plus the processor. you could run one speaker using the onboard sound card.

The link shows the inner workings.

Hello,

If this is an Audigy 2 ZS as the heading says, you can download the Win7 driver at:

Audigy 2 ZS Drivers

If it is not an Audigy 2 ZS you can select the exact model at:

Creative Labs Product Selection

Click Audigy and then select your model #, then click Next.

Ive got creative inspire T7900 7.1 speaker system attached to my pc.one of the speaker connections in sub-woofer is faulty ? the sub-woofer seems to be a sealed unit so cant take panel off to have a look...

Is this connecting to a sound blaster audigy 2 zs or xfi soundcard? or a motherboard onboard soundcard/ aftermarket Other than creative?

If connected to the creative card odds are the wire is bad. get a new one

If connected to a generic the wires for the speakers are proprietary and you have to go get 3.5 to 3.5 stereo cables to hook it up

Suddenly my speaker volume is low and scratchy

Congrats, you yourself is a good troubleshooter. Just pinpointed your problem. What you just diagnoist can be easilly checked just by taking other good known speaker. If that works your speaker is short check for audio output wires. If not your card needs replacement. If need further clarifications just comment.
