I GET OIL IN MY INTAKE AND THEN CAR STARTS TO SMOKE A LOT AND STARTS TO MISSFIRE. I HAVE REPLACED CRANK VENT VALVE,REMOVED AND CHECKED INTAKE. I HAVE REPLACED TAPPET COVER GASKET AND SPARKPLUG TUBE SEALS. I DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 5 KM WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS BUT THEN SMOKE STARTS TO COME FROME EXHAUST AND ENGINE MISSFIRE FROM CARBON ON PLUGS
Has your car got a turbo ?
If so the seals my have gone in it.
Testimonial: "No the car don't have a turbo"
There's a couple of things to look at. First I'd check the valve you have already put in seals ok. I'd also check the oil pressure. (If there are any blocked oil ways in the engine it could cause a build-up of pressure, Also means some of the engine isn't getting oil).
When you took the Rocker cover off was there any oil gunk ?
It maybe worth giving the engine a good oil change (With a good engine flush)
when the tappet cover were off, you could see the oil slug everywhere
Then it seems that is your problem. You need to give the engine a REALLY godd flush. I'd also (If it was my car) take off the sump & give the oil pump pick-up filter a good clean.
There's is a good chance some of your engine isn't getting the oil it needs, So I wouldn't recomend driving it until this is sorted.
what do i use to flush this engine and how many time do i have to do it?
There is a couple of good flushes you can buy from your local car shop (Wynn's are a well known one)
I couldn't tell you how many time you need to flush your engine, As I don't know how bad it is.
However, i would do a minmum of two. A can of engine flush in the oil you have in it now.
Then put some cheap oil in it run it for a week or so, then once again put in some engine flush & flush the engine out,
Then put some goon quality oil in (Check with your car handbook to see if it happy with full synthetic)
However, before you do the engine flush, It maybe worth you cleaning out the breather pipes, Rocker cover, etc of any gunk first.
thanx steve i will do that
It's quite possible that the oil in the intake could have something to do with it. However, It also sounds as if you may have one or more oil ways blocked. I'd recommend you let a garage check it over (They can do a vacuum test on it)
how can i test my vacuum on my cars engine for any leaks ? Dec 20, 2013 Bertie Bertie This is what I have done already 1. removed intake to check for worn hoses and clean intake 2. replaced crank vent valve 3. replace o-ring on dipstick tube 4. made sure that return on dipstick tube was open 5. clean throttle valves 6. clean temp sensor on intake 7. Fitted new plugs tested vehicle, was fine for about 2 km but then started to smoke heavy again and was misfiring Next step 8. found oil again in intake but never cleaned it. 9. replaced o-rings on pipe from vent valve to tappet cover 10. replaced tappet cover gasket with sparkplug tube seals 11. drained oil and replace with new oil and engine flash 12. new sparkplugs were carbon and was cleaned tested vehicle again. It drives fine for a distance, but then give one smoke ball and then stops again, but then the plugs are carbon again and misfires. Could that be still from old oil still in the intake, because the oil level on the dipstick stays the same And I hear this funny sound coming from the crank vent valve, that sucking sound when it opens and closes

first check the firing order plug wires, then check the timing , not sure of this but check the timing by lossening the distributor while enging is running and manually rotate the distrubutor to adjust timing, by ear w/o a timing light. maybe need to be retarded or advance a bit. check auto maintence manual for firing order.
SOURCE: White smoke and the smell
Bradley,
You have stated two problems. Coming to second first. Smell of burning rubber. in the car rubber is only at two places where it can burn, The tyres, unlikely as you have not commented upon your driving habits. Some people like to rev the engine so much before take off that the tyres go burning for the first few hundred meters. And then there is rubber on the wires and cables. You have to check the wires for any heat while the engine is running.
Coming to the first now. White smoke is generally of unburnt fiel and not oil. Oil alwayd give black smoke and that is the indication you get when the exhaust is giving black smoke. That means that the engine is consuming oil. if it is white then that indicates that the engine is cold and burning more gas/diesel. Is your a diesel vehicle?? But as you say it from under the hood. And that too behind the engine block. May be that the gasket is leaking from somewhere. If you could check the engine oil level for a few days early in the morning before starting the engine. If the level drops and the exhaust tail pipe does not blacken your finger when you rub it in it would mean that the oil is being burnt. Now what I suggest is that with the engine running and hand brakes on, go under the car with hood open and try to locate the source of the smoke. I am sure you would be able to locate it.
Then we talk again.

Just an idea but the Ford Mondeo ( european car ) from which I believe your engine
is
taken has a habit of splitting a low pressure tube at the back
of
the engine this is a relatively
cheap,
easy fix. The other symptom this used to throw up was a
little more
black smoke from the exhaust and a pacing/ surging from
the engine.

you need to do a oil psi test to find out if it is an engine problem or a sender problem.
