I have a Scotsman SCN60 nugget icemaker and when I add cleaning solution to reservoir it just stays there

Cannot complete the cleaning process, because the solution just stays in the reservoir. Doesn't make very much ice. Slow process of making ice.

Hi, Are you using Scotsman ice machine cleaner? and are you using the right amount?
1. Open the door and turn the ice machine control knob to off.
2. Scoop out all the ice, discard it.
3. Pour 4 ounces of Scotsman ice machine cleaner into the ice machine reservoir.
4. Turn the ice machine control to on.
5. Allow the machine to operate for about 2 to 3 hours.
6. Pour hot water into the bin to melt the ice that has formed. That ice will likely be white and frosty looking.
7. Clean the bin liner of mineral scale by mixing some ice machine cleaner and hot water, and using that solution to scrub the scale off the liner.
8. Rinse the liner with hot water.
9. Sanitize the bin liner.
Now a dirty evaporator plate will not stop it from making ice it will cause it to hang up on the plate during harvest cycle if machine is not making ice good then there is something else wrong but when you clean the machine also make sure you clean the condenser coil and fan if this is dirty this will cause it to slow down on production of ice.

SOURCE: Scotsman ice machine is not making ice. There is

The manual has an exploded parts diagram use as guide to locate parts.
First check the timer, you can manually turn it through a cycle or watch it rotate on its own.
Check the water inlet solenoid valve. if all looks well and you have definite water flow past the valve, then
Check spray pump. You have to remove the rear panel. The pump has a fan on the top. spin the fan if it is at all tight the ;pump is bad.
I have owned 2 of these units and have had failures of all of the above parts over the years.

Clean the bin eyes found in the back of the ice machine where the shoot narrows. Look on the left and right sides of the unit, you will see plastic vanes that are pushed into rubber grommets. Just pull the eyes out and clean with ice machine cleaner.

Making good ice. Could be cube size control. Could be a weak compressor. Also these machines are household and meant to run in air conditioned space.

I have a Scotsman scn60 that stopped producing ice. I have isolated the problem and it is the first gear in the gear reducer. Scotsman offers the whole gear reducer assembly but it costs more than I paid...

You might be luckier finding a broken Scotsman where the ice maker was working but something else failed.

Also, check to see if other people have reported similar faults and difficulty locating spares. It may be a manufacturing fault and that should be replaced by the manufacturer at their expense. You may be able to join a class action suit to get this repaired.

How do i fix Scotsman SCN60 float system

The float system in a Scotsman SCN60 ice maker is designed to prevent the machine from overfilling with water. The float is a buoyant device that rides on top of the water in the ice maker's reservoir. When the water level reaches a certain point, the float will activate a switch that stops the flow of water into the machine.
To fix the float system on a Scotsman SCN60 ice maker, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the ice maker from the power source.
  2. Locate the float system, which is typically located near the bottom of the ice maker's reservoir.
  3. Inspect the float and the switch for any signs of damage or wear. The float should move freely up and down and the switch should activate smoothly.
  4. Clean the float and the switch with a damp cloth.
  5. Make sure that the float is not stuck and that the switch is properly adjusted.
  6. Check the water level in the reservoir and make sure that it is not too high.
  7. Plug the ice maker back in and test the float system by adding water to the reservoir.
  8. If the float system is still not working correctly, it may be necessary to replace the float or the switch.
If you are not familiar with electrical appliances or if you are unsure of how to fix the float system, it is highly recommended to call a qualified technician to diagnose the issue and fix it.

Reset clean light

Did you clean the machine? When you went through the cleaning steps it should have cleared the clean light. I will tell you what to push first Remove the front cover. If the machine is operating then push and release the harvest button. When the machine completes the Harvest cycle it will stop. Push and release the OFF button. Push and release the clean button. The yellow clean light will blink and display will show C. The machine will drain the reservoir and refill it. Go into the next step when the reservoir has filled. Allow the the ice machine to circulate water for at lest 10 minutes. Normally this is when you would add your cleaning solution but i take it you have already cleaned the machine. Now push and release the Clean button again. The yellow Clean light will be on continuously and the machine will drain and refill the reservoir repeatedly to purge out the ice machine. Now Allow the drain and refill process to continue for at least 20 minutes. Now Push and release the OFF button. The clean cycle will stop and the display will show 0. Now push and release the on button. This should have cleared the yellow clean light. Now with that out of the way if it did not clear it then you will need to replace the control board. The machine will steel make ice with no problem and you just clean the machine every 6 mounts. The yellow clean light is just to remind you that it is time to clean the system. The board is quite costly.

Scotsman cm250ae-1c making very wet ice

It might be a dirty or damaged ice tray. When in the harvest mode the hot gas will be directed through the tray untill the cubes fall tripping the reset to start the freezing cycle again. If the cubes are sticking because of rust or scale buildup the cubes get "overmelted" causing the "wet cubes".CAREFULLY clean the ice tray . Use vinegar or ice machine cleaner do not use any cleaning pads steel wool or sand paper as this will ruin ice tray. Also make sure icemaker is level both ways. Hope this helps.

We have four Scotsman Ice Makers. The curtains are beginning to turn a little green. What is the approximate cost of replacing these curtains. How much per curtain?

Unless they are terrible you can clean the curtains. What you do is put icemaker cleaner in the icemaker and run it through a cycle. I don't know how much the curtains cost.

Bin Full light stays on all the time

This is usually an indication that the photo eyes are probably dirty. They "See" across the opening where the ice drops through. If they are dirty, it registers as a fill machine.
A bin stat can cause the same problem.
The eyes and sometimes be a major problem finding them getting to them. On smaller machines like this one, it's hard to get your hands on them.
Good Luck and hope this helps.
