You are lacking the drivers to communicate with the Bluetooth device. Acer has the drivers on line, so go to a computer that allows you to download Windows 7 drivers for the ACER and install them. Once that happens, your in business.

Bluetooth driver on aspire 4710 with win 7

turn your pc on and right click on my computer and go to manage in the left hand pane click device manager.

now click on the Bluetooth device if you cant see it and it just says unknown then its that one/
once you have it right click and go to properties and then driver
in the drop down menu below change it to hardware ID's

you will be presented with some gobbledygook that looks like
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0141&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_A2
what you want from this is the ven and dev numbers

so ven: 10DE and dev:0141

take these to the website pcidatabase and search ven then dev this will give you the specific device.

once you have it copy the name into your search engine followed by driver and your OS

Hi, I have Acer Aspire 4710 and my Crystal Eye Webcam is not working at all with any Skype version. Right now I have Skype 5.5 and it's still not working but when I open the Crystal Eye Webcam it works...

You need to redownload the drivers for your crystal eye web cam. Go to this link: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
When you get there, select "Notebook"...then select "Aspire". Then scroll down and select Aspire
4710 Then where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the camera driver software and then download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

Unable to install linux

The Acer Aspire 4710 uses a SATA hard drive. Unfortunately Redhat Linux 9.0 does not have SATA support (uses the 2.4 kernel). You will have to upgrade to something recent like Fedore Core 7 or Ubuntu 7.10. Hope this helps.
