First, you need to try update the latest microsoft office patch file from microsoft or you can open the MS Word, go to "HELP" menu select the update MS Word or related. Try the latest patch file first. You also can try windows update and select custom update, see their list have this problem solution or not. Second, you need to go to HP website download latest driver for LJ1020 and suitable use on Vista. Lastly, if still not solve the problem, you need this problem/issue to microsoft, ask their solutions. Kent

SOURCE: HP P1005 PRINT JOB SITS IN QUE, WO'T PRINT

Does it show "Printing" or "Spooling" in the job queue window?

Open the Job queue window, then highlight and cancel the print job. Send a small print job to the printer and make sure that the PC and the printer are communicating.

If the failure re-occurs, then clear the queue again and close it and restart i=the queue.

Printing Quality on HP 4550 Colorlaserjet

most likely the OPC (drum) or sometimes called "image drum or transfer belt located in the top draw. this is a consumable that needs replacing after it's life cycle is over. sometimes it will go below or over the life cycle, it all depends on many variables.

I would take out all the consumables, toner, belt and so on and use a dry cloth and small vacuum to clean the inside of the printer, then test it again, but when you have streaks it is usually the transfer belt. other possibilities is the scanner/laser window inside, sometimes it gets toner on the glass.

but step 1 is the Transfer Belt/Drum

hope this helps

HP LaserJet P4515 Streaking

It is possible that the cleaning blade on your toner cartridge is malfunctioning. Try replacing it.If you can time it right, try shutting down printer in middle of print job when copy is between toner and fuser and see if the problem is before it reaches the fuser.

MY HP LaserJet 2840 has a brand new Toner cartridge. Now it won't print at all and we are getting a "OPC at end of life" prompt. What does this mean?

Imaging drum reach 20,000 (black only) or 5,000 (color), replace the image drum.

Supplies life
The life of the imaging drum depends on the number of black-only or color pages that print jobs
require. Imaging-drum life is also affected each time the device calibrates because calibrating causes the imaging drum to rotate. Imaging-drum life is measured in terms of number of rotations rather than number of pages printed.
The type and length of print jobs also affects drum life. A series of short print jobs uses more drum
life than an equivalent number of pages printed in a single large job. To extend drum life, print
multiple copies of a print job at one time rather than sending the same job to the device multiple times.
The life of a print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that print jobs require. When printing text at 5% coverage, black print cartridges last an average of 5,000 pages and cyan, magenta, and
yellow print cartridges last an average of 2,000 pages. High-capacity cyan, magenta, and yellow print cartridges last an average of 4,000 pages. (A typical business letter has 5% coverage.)

My HP 4ML has been printing fine until recently. Every print job, big or small, the first couple of pages print the pages mostly black, then start to fade the more pages I print in the same print job. ...

You didn't say that you swapped out the toner.
Let's come back to that point later.

Put paper in the manual feed tray.
Print something.
As soon as the paper feeds halfway into the printer, open the top cover.
Pull out the toner, look down at the paper. Is it mostly black?
If the answer is yes....replace the toner.
Vacuum out the inside of the printer and print again.
I think you have a bad toner cartridge

Black ink streak on left side of paper on hp 1012, just put in new toner

Run a half test.
Put paper in the manual feed tray(tray 1).
Send a print job to printer. When the paper gets 3/4 of the way into the printer, open the cover. Pull out the toner cartridge, look down at the sheet inside the printer. Does it have the streak on the left side? If yes...your toner cartridge is bad. If no...replace the fuser.

Black streaks on the sides

If this is a laser printer you need to send a 1 page print job and when the page is under the toner cartridge and a little into the fuser open the top. look at the page and determine if the defect is coming from your toner cartridge of the fuser. you should also see the defect on the drum or on the fuser.

Every page covered in magenta and black won't print across the page

This is caused by toner contamination in the laser scanner unit, it is quite a complex job removing and cleaning the laser scanner. I would suggest you contact HP regarding the repair.

Minolta 2300DL Printer - black streaks

Without actually seeing a print sample or the machine, my bet would be on the black print cartridge. Even though it reads a an acceptable level of toner, the cartridge itself sounds like it has developed a proble. 1. It's the most obvious 2. It't the cheapest place to start. If it does not correct the problem, you can still use it later. 3. It's the problem in about 80% of these types of cases. 4. I know it should be fine, but if things didn't go wrong, I wouldn't have a job! Let me know. If not we'll investigate further. Ed
