Scrolling lines I have a 65" mitsubishi tv, WS-65807. i bought this tv new in 2000, i had to have the convergence ic's resoldered about 6 months ago, now i have a new problem. the picture has scrolling horizontal lines when i use the hi def component input, the problem goes away when i disconnect the cable tv jack. Any ideas as to what is wrong. I also had the tv calibrated by an ISF tech in 2001. Awesome picture when it is not messing up.

Try using a DVD though the component input (need a 480P out ). If the pix si ok I wouldsuspect the cable box. If the problem is still there I would suspect a video switching IC or a Leaky regulator.

For past 6 Months The scren was bowing Horizontally and now it has sever ghosting.. What to do this TV is about 8 years old Model Number WS-65807

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

It needs to be repaired by having the convergence ICs replaced or resoldered (if intermittent).

Parts are STK 392-570. Be sure to use thermal paste on the ICs.

Blue and red overlap shadowing

convergence ic's are your culprit. they are responsible for aligning the 3 colors your tv projects onto your screen..

Mitsubishi WS-65807 blinks '22'

Jim,
yes the convergence Ics are what cause the two picos to be open they are both 5 amp picos. You can get the picos, the convergence ICs and the factory service manual for your model at the following link.your model is known as the V17 chassis for service manuals and you should require two STK392-570 Convergence ICs. Heres the link they provide free instalation instructions.

Mitsubishi WS-65807 blinks '22'

I replaced the pico fuses and the convergence IC's. fuses poped right away code 22 . Further inspection of the board showed the coolant had leaked out of the center projector and fried the board. Not willing to pay $300. Passed it on to someone else
