Doctor C,

I to have suffered the trial and tribulations of the viper car alarm experience and am happy to pass on my knowledge.  I found this answer online after googling "viper valet mode"

"The LED is solid now, correct? This means the unit is in Valet mode. To get out of it, turn the key to the "on" position then back off, and just press your black program button hidden under the dash.  The installer should have shown you where they installed the black program button."

Good luck

Scott

Good Luck

Viper 5900. GMC Sierra. No chirps, no siren when panic is pushed. Still locks doors. No LED flash though. Auto Body had truck and now alarm not working properly.

It sounds like your alarm was put in silent mode. You can check your alarm user book to reset your alarm mode. Also you can google your alarm model and it should direct you to a DYI alarm reset videos. GL

The alarm is on a 1996 f150 the alarm will not chirp the led on truck is solid it isnt blinking and it is a 5701 viper

Your alarm got put into valet mode some how
.It's easy to reverse out of it back to normal. First look for a small black push button under the dash somewhere. It's called a valet button. Here are the steps.
1. open door
2.turn key on then off
3.then within 10 seconds hit that valet button once(your alarm light should be off. Tell you arm it again. Then it will blink)
Hope this helps

So I have a viper alarm system in my car and awhile ago the remote got wet, so in order to be able to start my car i had to disable the alarm by turning the ignition on and pressing that eraser like...

You have to turn off your ignition and immediately press that 'eraser like button'(valet switch) for a second and release it. Alarm will then come out of valet mode and your remote should work, if it's good.

The alarm doesn't chirp and no flash of my headlights anymore. Also the blue light stays on the little receiver/antenna on the windshield wheather it is locked or not. What is the problem?

sounds like the alarm went into valet mode. that's usually what a solid blue light means on most viper alarms. check your owners manual on how to take the alarm out of valet mode. with the 5701 alarm its usually done with the remote. hope this helps
