Freezer does do not have a tight seal at the bottom
The gasket on my Whirlpool Upright Freezer (Model #EV150NXAN00)isn't getting a tight seal at the bottom. How do I fix it where it will seal or how do I replace the part?
Re: Freezer does do not have a tight seal at the bottom
It's an easy question!

If you have too much weight in the door or someone pulled down in the door, it gets twisted. Try lifting up on the bottom outside corner of the door to straighten it up. You might have to loosen the top hinge to reseat it.
Freezer burn to food is caused by air & moisture in contact with it. There should be a tight seal by the rubber gasket along all the inside edges of the freezer door. This gasket prevents unwanted hot moisture and hot air from entering the freezer compartment and causing ice build up. You can test the integrity of the rubber gasket seal by seeing how the freezer door will pinch a slip of paper in various spots around the freezer door. If the slip of paper pulls out easily, there is not a good seal at that spot. If that's the case (which I believe it is), the door gasket needs to be replaced. By the way, ice will build up over time because you need to access the food in the freezer, hence you will introduce moist air each time you open the freezer door.
In a case like that most likely the door gasket isn't sealing on that corner , a dollor bill placed around door then close it should have some resistiance when pulling it out, if it comes out easily the door gasket needs replacing
oh wow . i have the same freezer with same exact problem. i bought it brand new. i can definately see the seal on top is not installed properly. i always thought it was only my freezer but i guess its a manufacturing issue.
If there is frost forming at the bottom to the door, your door gasket is leaking at that location. You may be able to relax gasket back in place with hair dryer, be carefull you can melt gasket. If it is sheets of ice, your defrost drain may be frozen
That could be one of two things, one the door is not aligned properly and more important the gasket has failed and needs replacement. The snow as you call it is ice condensed from the atmospheric air that is getting by the gasket. You may want to check the door gasket and sealing surfaces especially in the area of the "snow". I have a EVL201NXRQ05 upright whirlpool. It was purchased in Nov 2008 in the Summer of 2009 the gasket was leaking at the top of the door. The gasket on this door snaps into place (no hardware needed). The problem is the door was bowed in the middle pulling the gasket down and away from the metal frame of the freezer - to the point the magnets in the gasket would not touch in the middle of the opening. I requested a new door while under warrantry. The door did not appear to be repairable it is a glued/foamed-inplace assembly. The new door looked straight when I installed it last summer and now it is bowed but not yet leaking. Whirlpool has a design / manufacture problem with this door design. I have received an extended warranty option from Whirlpool this past week 4 months after the factory warranty has expired. I suspect they know they have any issue, but not much is written about it. I may end up buying the extended warranty, but first I'm going to where I bought it to complain.
ice on top of freezer door they came out with a fix but does not work two vent holes on bottom of door seal mthem off with silicone moisture getting in if that don't work you need to take liner off and spray foam the liner cavities
