Door seal on my Frigedaire sise by side gets hot, what is wrong?

I had this once with a Fridigare GLRS267ZAQ4 side by side but it was also heating up water and the freezer wasn't working very well.

My problem was that the coils and condenser in the back bottom of this unit needed a major cleaning and the fan wasn't working very well. Cheap to buy that part and replace yourself. This problem was causing this unit to heat up everywhere because the coils and compressor were not being cooled properly.

I have often found this unit to get ice build up in the back inside wall and had to take a hair dryer to it in order to melt the ice. This mostly caused problems with the ice dispenser and freezer getting warm.

Right now I am having a problem with my refrigerator not cooling well but the freezer is fine. Guess I'll try to defrost the ice and check the coils again.

Hope this helps!

Hi, we just purchased an 5 year old GE profile refrigerator with full door/bottom freezer from a private party. It was working fine at his house. The refrigerator has a loud buzzing every 1/2 for a few...

The buzz is most likely coming from the water valve that feeds the ice maker. If the ice maker is not being used the buzz will continue unless the power is disconnected to the valve. It does not hurt anything but can be annoying.

If the ice maker does not have the shut off handle (arm) to lift then a solution would be to unplug the ice maker itself. If you look at the ice maker in the freezer it is usually held on by 3 screws to the side wall. If you remove these screws there will be a wire plug that you can unplug and remove the entire ice maker and free up room. With it disconnected the buzz will stop.

Icemaker has to be manually turned off

frigidaire has 2 diff i/m units if you have the one that has the i/m along the left hand wall of the freezer then probably you have a broken shutoff cam in the ice maker. solution is replace the i/m
if you have teh model with the icemaker along the back wall. over production of ice is nature of the beast and not really anything you can do about it.
i know neither is solution is great but i hope it helps peyton

Frigidaire side-by-side model # FRS26H5ASB4 making humming or buzzing noise

I had the same problem. I found the buzzing noise was caused by ice build up around the fan motor inside the freezer. I believe water must have leaked down around the fan during a defrost cycle. I removed the ice maker, the ice cube bin and ice dispenser auger motor. It sounds complicated, but it isn't too bad. The ice maker and auger are connected with quick connect plugs. So just unplug, remove the screws and remove them from the freezer. You will need to remove several other screws as well, I believe 11 in total as well as the top freezer rack. This will give you access to the white aluminum panel that runs from the top of the freezer to about halfway down the back of the freezer. After you remove the aluminum panel you will see the fan about half way down the freezer. I found a lot of ice around my fan. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the buzz. Remove the ice and the buzzing is gone. It took me an hour to complete this repair. I hope this helps.
