Then again, with the right combination you may be able to connect by wi-fi. It is also pssible to connect via a Chromecast dongle. This is a wi-fi to HDMI device which plugs into a non-wi-fi TV.

Unable to open wi-fi

Is the modem/router from your Internet provider wireless or not ? Or it may be, but you use it in wired mode. Find out by calling their technical support. If it is not, exchange it for a wireless one from them. Should be free of charge.

Hope this helps.

Connect chromecast to belkin wi-fi

Ensure that wireless isolation (or any labeled form of network isolation) is disabled, though it shouldn't be enabled unless it was manually set that way. I've also run into this issue when setting up Chromecasts occasionally, and I had to do a factory reset (hold down the small reset button on the Chromecast for 30 seconds) and repeat the setup process in order for it to be detected. You might try that as well.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button
If you have client devices, such as wireless adapters, that
support Wi-Fi Protected Setup, then you can
use Wi-Fi Protected Setup to automatically
configure wireless security for your wireless
network(s).

To use Wi-Fi Protected Setup, run the Setup
Wizard, or refer to the “Wireless > Basic Wireless
Settings” section of “Chapter 3: Advanced
Configuration".

lights up blue when wireless security is
enabled. The LED flashes blue for two
minutes during Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
The LED lights up amber if there is an error
during the Wi‑Fi Protected Setup process. Make
sure the client device supports Wi‑Fi Protected
Setup. Wait until the LED is off, and then try again.

Setup session is active, and a second session
begins. The Router supports one session at a
time. Wait until the LED is off before starting the
