Sony model KV-40XBR800

7 blinks! No sound, no picture. It used to do this, I would leave it alone and then a few days later I would try and it would come on. Now nothing, it's been 2 weeks, just makes a clicking sound, sometimes a power sound like it wants to come on, and nother. I'm being quoted $89 for the trip, plus $168 flat labor, plus parts...is that right? I hate being ripped off, and I'm reading it might be something with the motherboard.

Sony 27"TV will not turn on

The picture tube on your tv is dead, you need to replace it. It probably will be worthing just purchasing a new set, because the cost of repairing it will be close to the purchase of a new one.

No sound or picture now

The set may have shorted the horizontal out put transistor since it kept coming on sometimes. This could be cause by the driver transformer arcing causing a "spike" in voltage going to you horizoltal out put transistor. Stargazer
