I had the same problem on my VPL HS2. I removed the new lamp and reinserted it. Then I plugged the AC cord back in and completed the button sequence in less than 5 seconds - that's less than 5 seconds INCLUDING plugging the AC cord in, It worked and the timer was reset.

  • Plug the projector into the wall and put it into standby mode. You should have already replaced the projector's lamp with a new LMP-P200.
  • Press the "Reset," left arrow, right arrow and "Enter" keys on the projector's control panel. Press them in the exact order listed here, one after another, and press each key for less than five seconds.

    Reset lamp hours on vpl-fx52

The unit must be on Standby and then you press the reset, <,> and enter. I would recommend doing it a couple of times. You can do this from the remote. I would assume it can be done on the units control panel also. The main thing is to have the unit in standby. It doesn't work if the units not in standby mode.
