New to spray painting and am spraying baked enamel paint

I am having problems with the finish. I am getting somewhat of an orange peel finish and a smooth finish. How or where can I get painting tips to resolve this problem. Am using the correct primers and paint and have the SPEC for both.

To fix this problem you need to turn up the pressure both at the wall(coming from the air compressor) and at the gun. I would suggest 10 more psi at the wall and 5 at the guns but you can play areound to find whats best for you.

Paint flaked off. How to repaint?

Scrape off any loose paint. Sand it down, removing any rust. Use an enamel spray paint primer first. Then finish with a good quality exterior spray paint like rustoleum. Put on a few thin layers of paint allowing it to dry between coats.

What is the best way to lay down the clear coat over my finish coat on the fender I just painted but ruined when I shot the clear coat?

Refer to the paint manufacturer's data sheet to ensure the new gun has the right setup for clearcoat.

Could be the new gun was supplied setup for spraying a high solids primer or something that needs something like a 0.7 mm fluid tip. Clearcoat would need a 0.4 mm tip, an appropriate needle and a different air cap.

Data sheets are very valuable things. Don't forget to pick one up when you buy spray paint. A viscosity cup is another useful addition to the tool kit along with a graduated paint stirring stick.

I have an old white refrigerator that works fine, just looks awful. What can I do to the face to make it look nice. I have wooden oak kitchen cabinets and a tile floor.

Paint it with white enamel.
Enamel Paint finishes in high gloss if you want that sort of finish.
Always paint in a dust free invironment with plenty of ventiallation.
With the expensive cost of many home appliances, sometimes replacing an old refrigerator is out of the question, especially if it still works well.
This can be a problem if you've recently painted your kitchen or if you're just sick of looking at an old, outdated fridge.
Instead of learning to live with your boring or unattractive refrigerator, you can give it a bright new look with a few coats of paint.
Mix a few tablespoons of vinegar into a bucket of warm soapy water.
Use this mixture to clean the refrigerator.
Scrub away any grease, dirt or other grime with your soapy water and a stiff bristled scrub brush. Wipe the refrigerator dry with a towel when it is clean.

Use painter's tape to cover parts of the refrigerator you do not want to paint such as the handle or the grate at the bottom of the refrigerator.

Apply a coat of appliance paint to your refrigerator with a paint roller to prime the surface.
You can also purchase appliance paint in a spray can and use it to spray paint your refrigerator.

Sand the paint with an extra fine grit sanding sponge when it is completely dry.
Try to make the surface as smooth as possible and then wipe away any dust created with a clean towel.

Paint the refrigerator with an enamel paint tinted to the desired color and a paint roller.
You can use oil-based or latex-based enamel depending on your preferences.
Oil paints usually have a stronger odor than latex paints but they may last longer.

Apply a second coat of paint when the first coat is completely dry.

Sand the final coat of paint when it is dry with a wet extra fine sanding sponge.
Spray the refrigerator with water while you work to keep it damp and keep sanding until the paint is smooth and shiny.

Remove all of the painter's tape from your painted refrigerator.

When spraying latex paint I do not get smooth finish

Turbine powered hvlp systems are not the ideal system for spraying latex paint. If you plan to do lots of latex spraying an airless system is recommended.

You should be using a 2.00mm or 2.5mm tip. More thinning than recommended may be necessary to get a good spray. The addition of floetrol or similar latex retarder is a good idea. A retarder will slow the drying and allow more time for the paint to level and result in less orange peel finishes

ENAMEL IS PEELING ON THE GRILL OF THE GGR50B

Using a grill cover is a very smart move. That wil usually prevent the peeling, but the high heat can certainly take its toll. Your best option is to get a heat tolerant paint that is designed for that type of surface. The new spray paints that are made for plastics might work. Just be sure to always check the heat capcaity.
