I can't get water to my ice maker on my Norcold 1200LIM. I used a hair dryer on the tube leading into the ice maker but that didn't result in anything. Can I bypass the solenoid to make sure the water tube is not clogged? Is there a way to troubleshoot/test the solenoid?

If the fill tube gets choked up with ice, it usually means that the water fill solenoid valve is leaking. The valve is not closing properly and is dribbling water. If the leakage is slow enough, water may freeze in the fill tube. Over time it will freeze the tube completely shut. or it could be that the ice maker is not level.

The water valve (or solenoid) that only lets the water through from the water supply line when the ice maker calls for it is leaking you have to replace it.
