Denon AVR - 2807 flickers in TV mode with picture & sound.

I have a Denon AVR-2807 and when I put on TV mode, the sound and the picture flashes for 2 secs and switches off and then again flashes for 2 secs and switches off. It's on TV HDMI mode and Dolby Digital. It flashes Digital on the left of the AV panel when the picture and sound comes on. DVD model works fine, TV mode which is hooked up to cable flashes. Any ideas what is causing this?

Change the hdmi cable and try. If not then you have an hdmi fault module.

SOURCE: Denon AMP AVR 2807 no sound from Television

OPT1 is a digital optical input to the amplifier, What do you have this pluged into ? as this signal will only go to the amp.

if it is from your tv to the amp then you will need to select this option of audio out in the TV menu, if available.

SOURCE: no picture with cable to denon AVR-589

Long and painful answer!!! However, in the end, you need to bypass HDMI thru your receiver and go direct to the TV. Connect Digital Coaxial or Optical for audio to your receiver. Your version of HDMI in your receiver is not compatable with today's HDMI version. Yours is 1.1a and the current version is 1.3b going to 1.4. If you want detailed info as to "why", just google "HDMI 1.1 problems" you can read for hours! Sorry for the bad news! However, it is what it is. Hope this helps. If you need further help with setup, post a comment and I can give you further help.

Can't get the sound to work on my TV using the Denon AVR-2807

In the 2807 the HDMI out is a video out only. Audio is not processed through the HDMI output.
If you are using speakers it is best to adjust the playback modes to stereo if you are annoyed with surround sound modes.
Please comment if I helped.

I have a denon avr-2807 receiver. on tv mode, i can only get analog signals. i am using an optical cable and the signal is only transmitted in digital. how can i correct this?

An optical cable is digital but its only audio not video. Are you connected to a cable or satellite box, are you using composit video, s-vid, component video, or hdmi? What kind of cable goes from your denon to your tv?

Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!
Cheers,

Loss of sound on the Denon AVR 2807 a/v surround receiver when I turn on and off lights in my house

Finally the problem was with the HDMI cable. When I pushed it in on the TV set the problem disappeared. It seems the connections must be quite firm on the HDMI cables otherwise anything may interfere to the sound.
