Water leak under refrigerator, Frigidaire, FRS6R5ESBC

I have water under my refrigerator; however, all the water lines are connected and dry and the catch (drain) pan is dry as well. It leaks onto the floor and not the drip pan.

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Does the refrigerator filter filter the ice maker too

Hey friend, that's a great question!

For our Frigidaire refrigerators the water filter does in fact filter the ice maker too. The water enters your refrigerator from the water valve and then goes into your filter. It is then distributed between your ice maker and water tank. Hope this information has been helpful. -Matt

When ice maker calls for water, the water dispenser on door spits out water

You have air in the line which means you have a leak somewhere, for starters, check the connection under sink, usually the water line is tied into the cold water line there, there is a piercing valve there that you can turn to open and close.Look around for water there.

Water leaking from under Frigidaire fridge

Hello - There are many reason for this issue to occur, for example the refrigerator could have a crack in the defrost pan, a defrost drain line blockage, a leak from the water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, but most cases water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet. Try confirming that the vales are tightened. If the connection is still leaking, turn of the water supply line to the water valve and take the connection apart. You can try using Teflon tape when retightening the connection to ensure a good seal. If these suggestions prove to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Frigidaire professional series refrigerator leaking water under door

Hello - Typically when water is coming out from under the refrigerator there could possibly be a loose connection from the house water supply line to the water valve or a cracked drain pan (located underneath the refrigerator). Try confirming that the valve is tightened. If the connection is still leaking, turn off the water supply valve and take the connection apart. You can try using Teflon tape when retightening the connection to ensure a good seal. There could also be a loose water connection to the door. This connection is located on the bottom left of the freezer door.

Sometimes I see water under it. And the pan is always dry. Is there a clog somewhere in the line?

Hello,
The water is from the melted frost of the defrost cycle. The drain at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer is blocked so instead of the water draining into the pan where it will evaperate,it's pooling on the freezer floor and freezing, in many case when the floor indent is full the water will leak onto the floor.By pulling the refrigerator out from the wall, there will be a tube behind the service panel on the right side when looking at it from the rear, that tube can be removed and cleared, then clear the nozzle it connects to inside the freezer.

I hope this helps you to stop the leak,

1996 Frigidaire Fridge/Freezer.... The fridge is leaking underneath suddenly, soaking a full sized towel every 2 hours. The water rung out of the towels is slightly brownish in color. No leaks can be...

I'd check the water supply line to the fridge. If kinked of damaged, may be the source of the leak (make sure that the the connection point to the building's cold water pipe isn't leaking - and simply running down the supply line to the fridge!)

Of course, it could be a cracked solenoid valve (turns water on and off when the ice maker calls for water for ice), loose or broken clamp, broken filter (if equipped), etc. All these connection points in the water supply lines should be visible.

Unplug the fridge as soon as you can reach it before working on a wet floor with live electricity.

Please rate my reply if it was helpful - good luck!

Water leaking out from under the fridge...water line in the back is dry.

Water lines tend to get blocked inside the frig, you can push a metal wire in to clean it.

HOW DO I INSTALL A WATER LINE FROM THE SINK TO THE FRIDGE

this is rather easy..Go purchase a I/m water line install kit. Please measure the amount of feet this will need and buy the correct size and install the tap/saddle valve onto cold water line under sink. Then, run your water line out of the back side of sink and around baseboard or behind the cabinets to back of refrigerator. The rest is just connecting to the valve on refrigerator and check for water leaks and your finished...Bruce
