Suzuki vitara 2006 cigarette lighter is not working

I'm not sure if it is the fuse, or where the cigarette lighter is located on the fuse box, I have however located the fuse box but I'm not sure which fuse box it is the one under the bonnet or the one under the steering wheel.

When you say cigarette lighter does not work, do you mean the insert part, which heats up to light a cigarette, or do you mean the socket? You can test the socket by plugging in a cell phone charger or similar device to see if there is any electricity. If not, then it would be the fuse. To find the fuse, check the net for a manual, stop by the dealer/parts department and ask where it is, or ask at repair shops in gas stations.

Testimonial: "Charger wouldn't work so I changed the fuze but it still doesn't work. D"

Which part is not working, the insert which lights the cigarette or the socket? To find out, plug in car cellphone charger or similar device to see if there is any electricity. If not, it is most likely the fuse. Best bet to find out where it is: just go to the dealer parts department. They would know and be able to give you the right fuse. Or you can check the net for a manual or ask at repair shops in gas stations. Someone will know.

Yeah when you attach sat nav or phone charger nothing happens, i have found the fuse but it looks ok not blown or discoloured in any way, Ill try a new fuse anyway and see how I get on, D

PS make sure the car is running. Fuses don't have to look blown.

Usually the car should be running for the socket to work. Fuses often don't look blown.

I had exactly same problem. I could not use my GPS or charge my cell phone.
In front of the driver sit, there are actually 2 fuse boxes. You probably found the first one. A second one is located above well hidden. Once you find it, you'll find the fuse you are looking for.

My cigarette lighters do not work to charge my cell phone? could this be a fuse problem? If so, which fuse is it?

Yes, could be cigarette lighter fuse blowed. Check fuse no.# 42 - F42 (20A) = cigarette lighter, 12 Volts. See picture below:

For 2006 VW Jetta the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.

Where is the fuse box located. radio and cigarette lighter won't work

Open the driver door and look on the interior side wall next to where your left knee would be if you were driving. You will find a fuse box there. Open it and pull out the front/bottom most fuse. Hold it up to the light and see if it is burnt in the center. If it is burnt, replace it with a similar color fuse. If it is not burnt check other fuses in that corner of the box until you find the burnt one. Your stuff should now work again until someone uses the lighter.
