If you are certain that you are using the correct password, they may have locked your account. Check your email (the address that you signed up with) because I think they email you when they do this with instructions to unlock it.
They did this to me once because they didn't like the link I was sending someone in a private message.
If there is no email from them, go through the 'forgot password' steps, there should be a link on the sign-in page.

If it let's into his/her account, sign them out first, then delete all cookies, There is a tick Under the Email Field which says Keep Me Logged in, untick it, try logging in again and hopefully this will work. Good Luck

This is caused usually by the browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, what you can do is to optimize your browser. You can do this by going to Tools>Internet Options> then click the buttons that has delete. Once done, close your browser and relaunch it. Then try logging in to facebook again.
You can also try to reset your browser to default settings. You can do this by going to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab. You will see there a reset button. Just click on it.
Close the browser and relaunch.
if this still not works, you can try downloading and installing a different browser such as Firefox, Google chrome and others.
