Try putting a cup of water in the microwave to see if it is really heating, or if it is just making noise. If it is really heating on it's own whenever the door is closed, then you have a stuck relay on the control board, and you probably have to replace the control board. If it's just "making noise" (running but not heating), then it is probably a bad door switch.
there's a ghost in your microwave, call ghost buster. Seriously, the problem is the control panel. (((((the microwave oven can store thousands of volts of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. That's more than 30 wall outlets combined.
Replacing electronic parts in a microwave oven can be extremely dangerous.))))))) tank you Samsung Model SMH1816S XAC Parts
I am not sure what you mean by boiling water under it all day. If it was under the unit, it probably shorted it out and it won't work. If you were using it constantly to boil water, you may have overheated it. To be safe, please unplug it and call the manufacturer.
I own the same Microwave and it just gave me the same error code E-13. I was heating a large plastic coffee mug of cold water using the "beverage" control. The only thing out of the ordinary was I used very cold water from the Fridge. Maybe this had something to do with the Max time error. Hopefully this was a one off error.
No... you are not in a microwave induced time warp...
Your microwave oven needs a "reboot". The same thing happened to me.
Unplug your microwave oven, wait about a minute (more or less), plug it back in. Try setting/running your kitchen timer, boil water, etc. Your timer software on the microwave should be reset.
