is your hard drive full it sounds like it ok reboot your pc hold the delete button and you will be in the bios find your boot sequence and make your cd rom the first then hard drive second and 3rd and 4th what ever you want then put in you cd save and quit your bios and it will ask you if you want to boot off the cd you say yes if this does not work hold the f8,f9,f10 till you see a screen that says you can boot in safe mod do that and if your hard drive is full try deleteing some larg files or do a disk clean up right click your hard drive click go to the bottom of the list and look for tools and do a disk clean up i hope this helps

Computer wont boot running vista dont have boot cd to repair tried the startup repair wont work i dont have a back up either

did you upgrade to vista and then computer won't boot?.
your computer may have not met the hardware requirements which lead to this result.

I would try to save the files by taking the hd out and slave/enclosure install it another machine in order to save the files you need to keep, an alternative solution is to do the same with a usb hd and a live knopixx cd.

once you have saved your files out of the current hd, I would try to fresh install of the operating system assuming that you do have hardware to support the installation.

some computer may not provide a boot or recovery cd but a hidden partition to restore your original installation from or some times even repair the installation. find out on your computer manufacturer's website the recovery methods or a way to purchase recovery cd's (if no hidden partition).
if you do have a hidden partition, your computer manufacturer should provide a manual online to access that partition at startup.

    good luck!

Turns on but wont go pass the startup screen

Try to put an operating system boot disk in your drive then turn on laptop.
When the screen says press any key to boot from cd/dvd press a key.If it is vista when you do boot from cd it will give the option in the lower right corner to repair-click on this-select repair startup option.if that fails try a re-install of your op sys.

    My computer wont boot anymore

Try going into safe mode by hitting F8 upon startup. If it lets you get into safe mode then choose "Last Known Good Configuration" on the menu. If that does not work then let me know, there are a couple of other choices.

Your computer should now be able to boot normally into Vista!!
Note -- If your computer cannot boot into Vista even after repairs, then go back to System Recovery Options and run System Restore.
That's it! This is how you use Startup Repair for most unbootable situations.
