Burned ones? Or do "real" CDs do it, too? If ALL do, then the laser was damaged or misalligned and will have to be serviced.

I had the same problem with my KDC-M7024 CD player. All I done was put a cleaning disc into the player and let it play for 2-3minutes. The disc has a small cleaning brush on it which spins around like a normal CD would and as the bristles pass over the laser it removes any dust. After that it worked fine but i still have to run the disc through every 3-4 months or the problem persists.

toc error means "table of contents" error... means the player is unable to read the disc at all. May have a dirty focal lense to laser. clean gently with some windex on a cotton wool bud. It may be a faulty spindle motor that spins the disc. the bearings get worn or uneven and do not allow for disc reading to be successful. a check for this is a drop of oil to the bearing. It may then start to read discs, but will still require the motor to be replaced. . Check for the above... but if there is more required, take it to a Kenwood 'Agent... it may need a laser change

Most likely optical pickup is defective. I may be able to get a pdf service manual if you wanted to try repairing yourself [email protected]
SOURCE: TOC ERR
this is caused from the pickup needing to be cleaned(lazer) remove deck remove small phillips screw on top plate use a damp q-tip (alcohal) gently rub the lazer top with the q-tip allow to dry aprox 10min reasemble and enjoy. Also make sure u don't need a security code for your radio before u unhook the power plug!!!!
