External hard drive not being read by media player

It's like saying My car won't start and not saying the gas gauage reads empty.

the USB port in the dvd player is to update it by the manufacturer. Unless the USB port is in the front then try going into the dvd players menu and have it search for devices, also make the content easy to find for dvd player, like have a VIDEO folder and put the media in there.

one way is to use Nero to create an photos cd that is setup to be read from any dvd player. Once burned this should be read and accessible from the mac system.

What is in essence a universal media cd readable by many other formats.

You should be able to find one at Radio Shack. Take the drive there to match the plug.

Hi Dear! This problem could be solved through a software. You should use Western Digital Disk Manager, your WD hard disk will work properly after using that your WD hard disk pass all test of the software. When it will pass all test it will work properly and in other condition if it will not pass then you should try again so that the software will fix the error and it will made workable.

Okay this is a internal SATA drive so what you can do is take it out of its failing case and put it into your computer or buy a new enclosure for it. I have a Mybook TB drive and my works great with no problems. But you can take this to WD western digital as its warrentied foe 3 full years!!
