Viewsonic pjd6531w projector flickers

The projector shifts back and forth between two tints of color every 8-10 seconds. I have installed a new lamp but it continues to do it. It is being run off of HDMI cable with a 50'+ cable coming from a laptop for a large meeting room (church) gathering.

Look to the color wheel for your problem. They do wear out.

SOURCE: viewsonic pj551 projector lamp will not light

Without more info, I'll tell you some things to check...Make sure the power cord is still plugged in firmly. With the unit unplugged, check the lamp for damage, looseness, etc. Was the unit hot when you moved it? If it was, the lamp was more prone to damage due to the heat. Always be VERY gentle if you have to move a hot projector for any reason. Did the unit sustain any hard impact while moving? Impacts crack boards, loosen connectors, and damage lamps. Make sure the lamp door is closed completely--there is a switch on the door to prevent the projector from coming on if the door is open. Make sure you didn't press any buttons on the unit too hard while holding it during moving.

Light is bright but the image rapidily switches colores. And this toggles off and on. Is this a bad bulb?

hi,
You have to check the color wheel of your projector. If the colour wheel dosen't sync with DLP then this type of complaint can occur. You have to remove and clean the color wheel and its rpm counter sensor. Have added the picture of colur wheel for yur refference.

Installation of lamp unsuccessfull. Lamp light continues to come on after new lamp intalled.

Projectors have a Lamp Life Clock that needs to be reset when bulbs are changed for your projector you need to:

1) Turn your projector on
2) Go to the option menu
3) Choose "Lamp Time"
4) Hold the "reset" button for at least 3 seconds on the remote, or the > arrow on the projector.
5) Confirm the dialogue that pops up...

That should be it.

My projector (viewsonic pj452) started flickering. When it started it would flicker once in around 5 minutes but now it happens many times in a minute. I tried resetting it from the menu and through reset...

The power supply needs to provide a constant current flow
to the lamp. Any small change or in the current will be seen as flicker
in the lamp and projected onto the screen.
Problem could be with low voltage power supply, the ballast or the
lamp it self is beginning to wear out.

Green Screen

Not bulb related, it is related to the i/o board on the back of the projector. Something is shorted or making poor connection

LP70+ projects a dark rose/pink tint upon the screen

The pink tint produced by my LP70+ projector was not a lamp issue but a connectivity issue. I swapped the old cable with a good known cable and the tint went away.
