How to set time/alarm GE Auto Clock Set Radio Model 7-4892A

I purchased a used GE Dual Alarm auto clock set radio/alarm clock, and I can not figure out how to set the time/alarms! I don't consider myself an idiot, but am feeling like one. There is no "set" button, and I've tried pressing all the buttons (including the manual set at the back of the clock) to no avail. Has anyone got a manual out there they can share and/or a link to one online --- or anyone just own one of these things that they can help with? I have a feeling this thing was probably broken when I bought it.

How do I reset the time??

  • grinchygirl Feb 16, 2008

Thanks for trying, but that did not help my problem at all. My clock is Model #7-4892A. It does not have ANY time/date selector switch to set anything. It is printed on the front that it is "Auto Clock Set" however that doesn't seem to work. There is a button on the back to press for "Manual Clock Set" but I cannot figure out how to get it to work either. I appreciate your trying to help though!

What I have found with my alarm clock like this one is that you CANNOT be soft on it. When setting the time, hold down the F or R button extra hard. I know that seems odd, but it works!

Just figured this out myself after fiddling for a long time. If you want to set your alarm press the "select" button then the "ff" or "rev" to choose a time you want associated with your wake 1 or wake 2. Next go to the left side of the clock and press the "wake 1" and by pressing it you'll be able to choose the bell setting or the music setting. If you want no alarm just push firmly and hold until both symbols disappear. Do the same for "wake 2". I have yet to try this out but that appears to be how you set or remove alarms.

Hope this helps!

I have a solution for the GE Auto set clock and radio model number 7-4892A. The only way that I had found out just by accident is that you are suppose to hold down the manual clock set until you start to see the Year and then the Date. There you will be able to set it to the correct date or year.

Sorry, the above link is bad. Here is the correct link. You will need Abobe Acrobat Reader, as it is a .pdf file. You will also have to use the magnifier feature to view the fine print.

I have the gpx c208b digital clock radio. I recently set an alarm on it and it has been repeating everytime the time is near. i want to know how can i get it to turn off unless i personally set it myself....

This clock radio has a switch at back marked "Auto/Off/On".

The 'on' position is the one you move the switch when you want to listen to the radio. The 'off' is the one you move it when you want your radio to be silent. And 'auto' is the one move to when you want the alarm to sound when the time reaches the hour you set it for waking up.

So, you must leave this switch in the 'off ' position all the time to keep the radio and alarm silent and move it to the 'auto' position whenever you want the clock to sound the alarm at the time you previously set it up.

Hope this info may help you!

Sony clock radio with auto time set is always 4 minutes fast.

This is easily fixed. Set the time manually the 1st time. Make sure you use the CORRECT time, which is four minutes less than what the clock said when you first plugged it in. Once you reset the timing, it will remember the four minute difference and always show the correct time.

Unable to set the alarm

To Set the alarm time: Press and hold the ALARM button down, and then press the hour/minute buttons to obtain desired time (Note the PM indicator on the screen for PM times)

To Enable the alarm: Move the sliding switch to AUTO or ALARM (Auto is for radio wake and Alarm is for beeping noise) *remember to turn up the volume knob if using AUTO (radio) setting.

"unset" the alarm on Timex T300T clock radio

When you set the alarm you pressed aburron that said 'radio' and/or 'buzzer' then programmed the time. Just press the buttons again and the alarm will no longer sound. Looking at the dial at the top of the lcd screen you will see the word buzzser or radfio if the alarm is enabled. Pressing buzzer or radio on the side will remove the word and no more alarm!!
