SOURCE: Blodgett Oven won't light

you are improving the voltage across the flame sensor . it probably is just short of being in range, failure to meet the proper micro amps the sensor produces will cause lock out and no ignition. sometimes you can simply adjust the sensor to hit flame better and it will work much better...

The serial number is under the left side door behind the cover. Open the doors take out the two phillips head screws which go into the top of the lower cover, one on each end just inside the door hinge, the lower cover will remove to the front.

I have a gas garland convection oven 10-15 years old. I see the red button to relight the pilot light but I can't find the pilot light itself. Can you tell me where I should be looking?

On the main bake burner is going to be a small pilot burner, got to lift off the oven floor to get to it. It is going to look something like this picture and is attached usually to the side of the main burner. To light the pilot, push that red button light the small pilot burner..hold in the red button for about 20 seconds..release the red button..pilot should be on..if goes off the thermocoupler is going to be in need of replacement

Oven is very sporaditic, will heat up get to temp , go to load mode then shut off. Sometime after an hour or two sometime after 15 minutes

Your pilot light is probably blowing out. If you follow the pilot light gas line from the pilot flame back to the main valve, you will see a screw about the size of a pencil in diameter. If you take that screw out, there is another screw down in the hole you just uncovered. You have to have a very small screwdriver to reach that screw. If you turn the little screw counterclockwise, the pilot light flame will get bigger. A lot of times this will help. If you have a drafty location, the pilot will get blown out and that shuts the main gas valve off.

Oven won't get hot

If your oven still uses a pilot light, it also probably has a thermocouple positioned in the pilot's flame path to detect whether if is safe to turn on the main burner. When the thermocouple fails, the oven thinks the pilot light is not lit and will not let gas flow to the primary burners. The part isn't costly (should be <$20 US) but replacing it may require some expensive labor.
