I bought a Sears snow thrower 2 years ago. Had never used it because we had not had enough snow until last week. Fired it up, started fine but runs really rough. If i keep priming it over & over, it smooths out, but other than that, it runs really rough. Changed spark plug but no improvement. Out of warranty by 18 days!

SOURCE: Remotes won't work

Sounds like a frequency issue. A remote work like the radio in your where each station is on a different frequency. Some signal is interfering with you frequency (390Mhz) You could try another brand external receiver with new remotes or with that old of an operator you might just think about replacing the operator (don't go with "Wayne Dalton")

SOURCE: Hi, Working with a Sears 1/2

The opener will not work without the sensors. Make sure you don't have a broken wire going to the sensors. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flickering. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have either a bad sensor or a wiring problem. If the main light flashes 10 times it is definitely a door sensor problem. The wall control may be bad now from usage. Remove it from the wall and short across the 2 wires. If that causes the door to try to move you then know the button is bad. You can also short across terminals #1 and #2. That would eliminate bad wiring to the wall control. Make sure the connections on the back of the motor unit are tight and that the 2 white wires from the sensors go to terminal #2 and the white wires with black stripes go to terminal #3.

Sears model 1150 snow thrower how repairing the electric connecter for sears model 1150 snow thrower

It's just a simple AC pronged piece. You can buy the actual piece from Sears OR you can buy an Electric Line-cord and wire it into teh plastic box where the Push button 'Start ' switch is.

I have a Craftsman Snow Thrower model # 247.881731. At the end of last year I drained the gas as recommended in the manual, this year I filled it with fresh gas and it now has a problem starting. I pu

Draining the gas from the tank doesn't drain the float bowl in the carburetor. It still had last year's gas in it. Gas will start to turn to varnish if left sitting 6 to 12 months. You'll probably have to remove the carburetor, disassemble it and clean it out with Gumout carb cleaner or some similar product.
When you get it running and the snow's over and done with, put some Stabil in the gas tank to prevent the gas from converting to varnish and then start it up and run it until that stabilized gas is through the carburetor and into the engine. You can leave it with the treated gas in the tank.

Electric start on craftsman 9 hp snow thrower won't start engine it sound like it's turning but engine won't start. I can start engine with the pull rope. Started last week with the electric start.

Sounds like you need to replace the gear drive on the starter. If the starter turns but the engine is not turning you have starter problems.

Carb adjustment and what is the correct spark plug

If the snow thrower worked last year I would suspect old fuel in the tank. Dump out the old fuel in the tank and put in fresh. Put a squirt of starting fluid in the carb and try to start it. If it fires the ignition is good. Do this a few times to pull the old fuel through the carb and fuel line. When the new fuel gets through the fuel system to the engine it will stay running. The spark plug in the engine will have number on it. Get one with the same number if you want to replace it.

Toro snowthrower 38180 won't start

You have probably fouled the spark plug (got a heap of black carbon on it) remove the spark plug wash in some petrol then use a wire brush vigorously brush between the contact points on the plug then reinstall. & lastly don't forget to push in the choke when you get it fired up next time.??

I have a craftman snow thrower, model#536.886122, serial#632722946 and I'm in need of a manuel.

Manuals of Sears products are available through their 'Parts Direct' system and have been resonable in price. The last one for a riding mower cost ~$7.00

Snow thrower won't stay running

Replace the spark plug being sure to use the plug recommended in your owner manual, and the gap recommended. Then clean or replace the air filter. Finally use high test, new gasoline. Not gas that has been sitting around for months. good luck
