Gear in bobbin has dropped and needles break constantly

I took my machine to a repair shop here in Nashville, TN, and was told that a "gear in the bobbin had dropped". Also told me I would have to contact Necchi. Where can I get it repaired here in Nashville, TN, or close by? Thanks

This is not a complicated sewing machine. Any competent Independent dealer should be able to take care of this problem. Call around and tell whom ever you speak with that the hook drive gear is probably out of adjustment and you want to know if they can do a complete service on this machine and do they guarantee their work.

That is usually a sign of broken drive gears in the machine, it has 3 in the bottom and 2 in the top. You probably need to take it to a repair shop to be sure. If you replace one gear, change them all or they will break too. It is the age of the machine and the parts are getting brittle. Unless you really love it, I would replace the machine with a newer one.

Dropped needle down bobbin area

Check around the bottom inside the machine. If it is not sticking in the needle plate or stuck in the bobbin area, then it has dropped all the way through. Be sure to remove not only the bobbin, bobbin case, but also the hook if possible. You may be able to tilt your machine or gently shake it and the needle will appear.

Not sure where you can take it. Check your thread tension and bobbin tension. Make sure they are not too tight. Also, how old is your thread? Many times, old thread will break easily. Check your needles for burrs. If there is a burr, the thread will break constantly when the needle moves up and down as it catches on the plate.

Singer Confidence Model 7470 bobbin jammed, needles breaking, now won't sew

Sewing machines will get out of time, often as a result of broken needle. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service, otherwise it will simply continue to break needles and possibly damage the machine.

I had this problem when I first bought my machine. I took it in and they told me it was a recall problem. All the machines were having the same problem. They fixed it and I have not had the problem since. I bought mine at a Joanne fabrics. Hope this helps.

Needle is hitting the round , turning case that revolves around the bobbin

It sounds like your timing is off because what you're describing is exactly what happened to me last summer. I took it to a sewing machine repair shop and they repaired the problems, gave it a nice cleaning and it was like new when it came home. But it took two weeks (not a lot of repair shops around here) and that was torture as it's my only machine!!! :)
